Got an interesting text from an attorney today!

It appears there are several law suits in the working now over the R9 and R15's due to finger amputations caused by the trigger boxes in those models. The attorney was from Pennsylvania and had gotten my number through Ravin's warranty dept.because of the issues I had with my R9 back in 2017. He asked if he could call me and detail what happened and why mine had to go back for replacement,so I agreed to talk to him. Just another HEADS UP for those that still own those models and never had the updated safety and trigger box installed by the factory!

Don't be surprised if sometime in the future you receive a subpoena to appear in court to testify now. I have sat in court for several days waiting to be called and even not been called at all after sitting and waiting. Subpoenas suck.

My issue and his clients issue were two different things.
I hope that was all it is. When Attorneys contact you out of the blue they are usually looking for a witness.

That makes two of us!
Put him in touch with Leroy. He goes by Pigfoot33 on the sites. He got nothing but all busted up over a Ravin.

I'm sure he is going down the list calling several. I told the attorney I sold my replacement soon after I got it. Ouchhhhhh!!!! I'm assuming he got a court order to get Ravins records, otherwise, how would a lawyer from Pennsylvania get my number?
Buy stupid bows, get stupid results.
I wouldn't shed a tear to see this company burn and blow away.

...and see stupid statements.....
Didn't Pigfoot admit to modifying his bolts? I dont remember but seems like he admitted it here and said he wasn't going to pursue it?
Plus hasn't the company been sold how does that work?
...and see stupid statements.....
I deserve that I guess but I really HATE what this company has brought to the table.

Another site has numerous complaints about this.
Not trying to shiit stir I had an R15 at the time never had a single issue gave it to my sil I have an R26 love it no problems use factory stuff
You know, something I am wondering about....if a person never puts their fingers in the "triangle" below the cable riser as is clearly written on every Ravin bow, then how in the world do you get your fingers wacked? Now, I can clearly understand a malfunctioning bow or trigger assembly and Ravin should be held accountable for that, but how do you get your fingers injured if you keep them out of the bite of the string??? I for one NEVER put my fingers inside that danger triangle EVER... when my R20 or R10 is cocked......EVER!

He didn't have his fingers inside the triangle. The bow fired when he was loading it and the vanes did the damage. And yes, he was using non factory arrows and nocks. At least that's the way I remember it..

Apparently fletching will cut you like a razor. If the bow discharged when loading an arrow the fletching would come in contact with a persons hand outside the triangle ....
Still shooting my R9 I bought back in 2016. It's my target and test crossbow so I shoot it a lot.
Have never had a bit of trouble with it after at least 1400 arrows shot through it and it still chronos above its rated speed.

Original limbs and trigger box assembly as well and I still have no problems with consistent accuracy out of it.
In fact, I even kept the cardboard targets for my first 1" group at 100 yds. and 1-1/4" group at 80 yards shot with my R9.

But based on my experience from being a long time AT and CBN member, there are definitely some folks on these 2 forums that shouldn't own a Ravin or even be near one for that matter.

I can see that but the photo of the injury above appears to be string injury but maybe not. good point though.
