Tagburgers again!
Happens to all of us at one time or another! I ate tag soup on an Illinois gun tag and that's kind of hard to do!

What all happened during your season?
Just didn't see much when I was out. Not many deer in this area. Saw very few on cams, even at night.
Heard a rifle shot at 5:15 AM. Hmmmm wonder what that was?
Sorry to hear, Cal. Hope next year is much better.

Sorry to see your tags. It happens. I still remember a year I took a button and was critiszed. It was the only deer I saw. Get um next year

Old Jack never developed a taste for tag, no matter how ya fix it, soup or sandwich, ya just can't get rid of that bitter taste hahaha.

Same here Jack! Just wasn't meant to be this year I reckon. Luckily I still have about a half a freezer full from last season, but will have to ration it and save it for special occasions,LOL!

Been there, done that! But man he sure did taste good!!! I don't trophy hunt anyway, not saying I won't TAKE a trophy! I'd take a two year old any day over a large rack, you can't eat the horns,LOL.

When given lemons make lemonade, I mean what else you gonna do?

Sorry to see those tags but as of right now I'm in that sinking boat right along with you. A combination of too picky early and unlucky late has me looking at unfilled what-might-have-beens. Our season runs until 1/15 but I have to work the last weekend and a funeral this coming weekend leaves me probably done for the season. But Good Lord willing there's always next year and at least here a ton of deer in the woods.

I changed this year and went back to hunting the old way. I said I'd take 'em as they came and believe me brother it changed my season. I still had my own ethics on what I would and wouldn't shoot but I totally enjoyed this year AND I filled the freezer. A lot more fun again too getting to shoot my bow at some deer vrs sitting and passing on everything just waiting on a big deer. BTW, I never did see those bigger deer.....again....this year. Hope you get you one jac63.:)

I too have changed how i hunt like Gabowman. I now shoot the deer that lets me rather than chasing the what if scenarios. Hunting is fun again :)
Again my choice so fawns and yrlings are what I choose not shoot. Everything else is fair game.
