dagriz,
"as many as you can shoot & NOT WASTE MEAT", is what the local "animal control supervisior" told me last fall.
we have so many deer in NOVA that i've wondered WHY they bother to ever close the deer season. one local man "in town" recently said that he counted 68 deer in his 1/4 acre yard in less than an hour - ALL eating his landscaping up!!!
the latest estimate from the county is that there is about 4 times as many deer in Fairfax County as the county SHOULD have!!!
this year, the latest i heard was: "Shoot anything with or without antlers and at any age. Just remove them from the county."
i refuse to really call this HUNTING. rather it is SHOOTING.
yours, texsasnative46
I refuse to call it shooting because it gives the ARA's one more piece of ammo
in their belt that they will use. Trust me on that one. Its all about the words they use with the non-hunting public and the way they twist them to get what they want.
I'm around the corner in Howard County.
We have a fair number here but its not that high.
I took my fair share last year.
Our last day of hunting is 1/31 in MD...except for the howard county things we have going on.
If you can send me the info on nova or give me a pointer, I'd apprediate it.
I'd consider extending my season into feb and march.
Regards,
Pete
