Hey now, im 29! Was a teenager when i did farm stuff. It is hard to find nowadays. Big reason why murica will collapse soon. Good quote is “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.”
What I wouldn't give to be 29 again.

The hay bales are heavier when there’s an angry snake in the bale.
Only had that happen to me once when on the wagon loading bales as they came out of the baler. The snake was on top of the bale, and the bale didn't stick around long before I threw it off into the field. The tractor driver couldn't figure out why I did that, until I explained it to him. I have no Idea how that snake went all the way through the baler and came out without a scratch.
Also talking about that incident, on that same farm the owner had about 220 acres of hay. He was in the business of selling hay. Those bales were packed so tight and at the end of the day when the dew started settling in, those bales would reach 70lbs. When us kids got done at that farm, we knew we had a work out, but the owner paid us well.

I preferred hauling hay to stomping greens in the Arkansas river bottoms across the river from Ft. Smith. Gets exciting when a pissed off copperhead or cotton mouth snake gets tossed into the wagon!!

You can't blame the Kid or the "illegal". Blame the person that hires them.
Ohhhh yeah, people are super patriotic untl it comes to their wallets. Like my dad who will buy the cheap tool from china instead of a little pricier American made which is what NEEDS to be bought for the future of this country. Originmaine.com does a pretty good job with American made. Clothing for anyone curious and they make hunting gear! Ignore the dog hair, this is my everyday wear since its hanging around 35 degrees, im not hunting with this one but i absolutely love the camo pattern

Probably foreigners, desatis seems to be doing a good job though. Im in pa so i don't know. I do know that one American worker on a living wage is equal to an entire sweatshop
I have relatives in FL. The contractors say there is no shortage of labor. They get them from Texas.

LOL ... yeah. I had a Union structural steel and miscellaneous iron erecting company for 11 years. I had a blue-blood Canadian Union Ironworker for a superintendent. Staunch union man. I was having a good-natured ribbing with him one day and I asked him if he uses union carpenters, plumbers and electricians for the renovations and improvements on his house. All I heard was crickets. :p 😂;)

I have to disagree with that statement. I am referring to farm labor. Todays American kids don't want physical jobs. If there are any, they are extremely rare. The illegal or legal aliens are willing and have no problems with physical or dirty jobs. The farmers need the workers, what can they do? Times have changed, they have no choice. :(

Guess this thread got derailed, and I am guilty of contributing to it. But as someone posted the other day on another thread, " It is a long way to hunting season. " also cabin fever is still hanging on. :)

Agree. But the question is if American Kids don't do it, who's left? You get labor wherever you can or face bankruptcy. It's not simple. You are right about the thread going off course. I'm refraining after this too.

If I was in my 20s ... and knew then what I know now? There wouldn't be a woman in the state that would be safe from my charms. :p 😂

I have to admit that I was going to reply with a post that my mind kept saying "Don't Do It ". I might get booted from CN. I will just leave it at, that when you were originally 20, a woman was a woman.  :censored:

To tell you all the truth, when I was twenty, I thought more about bowhunting then women. Now at my age, bowhunting is all I can think about. ;)
