IS THERE A NEED FOR A CROSSBOW SCOPE BOARD???

536 Views 7 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Statgeek
I have beat this topic to death the last week and decided on the Ravin but there is no one place to take this topic of a better scope on one of the cheaper crossbows. Why not a board set up on this topic so the questions can be centralized like some of the other topics?

Seems there is a multitude of new crossbow owners lost on what is out there and all the new adds other than a simple glass scope with horizontal lines or worse black dots like my CP scope

All the forums are full of the same question or really two question:
What is the best scopes out there regardless of cost
and
Most of the questions are from the new guy with a budget say
under 100$ and scopes over 100$ that will not break the bank.

Opinion? Jim

I agree. I am in the market for a new scope and would love to hear other people’s view on what they like or what works for them.

Go to miscellaneous, scopes, red dots and bond's. Much info you are seeking in those threads.

Unfortunately, what I see with the multiple-thread idea is that guys aren't using them anyway. There are a zillion threads in the "General Discussion" area that should probably be in one of the other threads. We see discussions here about broadheads, hunting, safety, equipment, brand-specific questions, and other topics that already have dedicated threads. Occasionally someone will recommend to the OP on those threads that their inquiry may get more of a response in one of the other threads. Sometimes I see the same question/topic in multiple threads too.

On other forums that I am on, Admins take an active role in trying to re-locate posts into the "right" thread. While this may be helpful to keep things organized, I always felt sorry for the poor Admin person who had that job!

So while I agree with you in theory, that topic-specific threads may help to focus SOME members, I'm not sure that it'll work as well as perhaps you want it to, judging on how well some of our current topical threads are performing.

I don't think when there's a membership like CBN has that it will ever be near perfect but atleast for those willing there are dedicated forums for each to post on. In return, if more people used those dedicated forums it would make staying on a given subject easier. You can always use the search tool for something youre particularly interested in reading about and by tagging in the right wording it will pull posts from numerous forums.

Scopes are probably the last thing you’ll get a consensus on. A vast range of optic choices, from a single red dot set at 30 yards, used in conjunction with an HHA Optimizer, a rifle scope that you like, also possibly used with an HHA Optimizer, or a crossbow specific scope...............depends on your type of hunting and optic preferences. Have fun shopping:)

We have a board labeled "Scopes, Red dots, binoculars, and other optics", is it really so swamped with red dots, binoculars and other optics that scopes need their own place?

I think not

This speaks to my point. Folks aren’t using or aware of the current special-topic threads already.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
