A good friend is the buyer for all Fin,Fur,Feather stores archery equipment, he's been with them 25 years, they have an archery mini factory at the Ashland location set up by Ten Point I'm told.I talked to him today about the Excaliburs , they no longer are carrying them after years, reason being they don't sell well, not enough bells and whistles for the modern day archer. He did say they rarely had one in their repair shop, and they were as accurate as anything currently produced. I still find this somewhat perplexing.

Hard to believe... In almost 60 years of driving I have never seen a woman driving a pickup truck.
As far as i know in my little hunk of the world. I'm married to the only woman that has never drove a truck. I see tons of women driving trucks. I bet i could drive the 6 miles to town then end to end and back and see in the teens of women driving a truck on any given day.

Sometimes i set on the front porch and just watch what drives by. I bet i see 50% Fords mostly F150's 30% Dodge the rest a mix. On average i see very few cars a lot of SUV's. Id probably guess as many SUVs as trucks. UTV's can be made street legal as long as your not on a road with a speed limit over 55MPH. Here Polaris is the overwhelming choice i'll see 10 polaris to one of anything else. Same thing i saw when i went on rides fundraisers.

There's a lot of differences across this country.

That tid bit was part of a big explanation after the last big cab change ford did with its F-150's. Take it with a grain of salt, it was just ford's way of targeting another group to sell their garbage to.

I live ... in the traffic ground zero of USA. That means I've seen a LOT of vehicles. I probably see a thousand cars for every one that most sections of the country see. I do know that studies have indicated women are the biggest factor in what "family" car is purchased. Which is not surprising with the emasculation of the white male over the last 3 decades. But clearly women aren't choosing pickup trucks because guys are driving them. I don't know the wording of the Ford marketing campaign, but most SUVs were categorized as "trucks." And every modern woman sees herself as a leader of men and wants to drive one. That's one reason for their popularity. "Trucks" didn't have to meet the same government standards as cars, so the US car companies pushed SUVs relentlessly. Convinced the buying public that they needed one.
Maybe- the merchant doesn't make as much initial profit off Excalibur sales as per other brands. Where they definitely miss out on making future $$$ is on repairs and maintenance on an Excalibur vs. most every other brand...
That is precisely and 100% why, profitability. Quite a few shops dropped their Excalibur line for another, often Tenpoint because there wasn't enough profit. Some of this has to do with dealers and big box stores selling for a low price to move products. There is no bad guy here. The point of sale wants to make money and they have to and the dealer wants to steer your wallet so to speak with less concern to what you want or need in lieu of making a buck. Lets face it, archery shops are dying or suffering. But us consumers are too. If all manufacturers would strictly stick to a MSRP life would be better for all. We as consumers are to blame because we are attracted to price like a heat-seeking missile. We only have ourselves to blame for having restricted access to bows and ending up more and more, buying online.

We always ... had "restricted access" to everything we ever bought. No dealer or store carried "everything." Every brand and every model no matter what it was. Lawnmowers to toasters you only saw what they carried, and no merchandizer could afford to put a hundred models of toasters on display with 10 of each in the stockroom. And ... we paid what they asked because competition was extremely limited. To add to the caveat emptor, there was little to no unbiased information available. You had dealers with a self-interest, manufacturers advertising had/has a self-interest, and occasionally a magazine article or review to read ... and the magazine was beholden to the very manufacturer whose product they reviewed for advertising revenue. It was a boar's nest of nepotism. All that is true to this day with brick & mortar stores.

At least with the Internet we have a much better chance of NOT picking the wrong product for our buying philosophy and needs. I've found even with sizing of clothes reviewers are listing their height & weight and what size fit them.

It was only a matter of time they would be left in the dust.

Had a doctors appointment this morning, and just pulling out of my driveway, here goes a newer black Silverado, the kind you need a step stool to get in. Lo and behold the driver was a female with a pony tail and about mid twenties for age. :)

Duke, you need to get out more !!!! ;)

Will never know, but I will say she drove it like she owned it and it wasn't her first time driving it. :) If I see her again, I will ask her because a friend wants to know. :D ;)

Up in Ontario women actually OWN their own trucks too, let alone drive them.

I have seen many bumper stickers on trucks in NE Oklahoma that say “Silly Boys, Trucks are for Girls”. Most had a horse trailer attached.

Here in Maine its very common to see women driving trucks. Real trucks too. Not Honda Ridgelines or Nissan Pathfinders 😁but big 4dr 3/4 ton trucks, 4x4's with plows, fifth wheel haulers, big jacked up diesels with boggers...arrr arrr arrrr arrr.
No mall crawlers here either, these ladies mean business....you can tell how serious they are by the size of the Truck Nuts they've got dangling from that reciever hitch
