I was wondering if it's a good or bad idea to leave a Bulldog 440 cocked for several hours or even a day when hunting? I guess my biggest concern with leaving cocked is if it is bad on the limbs or if I'll lose any of the power in the limbs over time?

You have nothing to worry about. I cock the bow before I climb the tree and let it down after I climb down. On some days during the rut this is all day long. I have no loss of speed or accuracy, this has been over the last 10 seasons.

How about multiple days?
Probably not a good idea.
That is a pretty high-strung xbow, the 440.
Best to call and ask Excalibur but I would guess leaving it cocked for 12 hours tops is OK.

I have a Bulldog 400 and hunt with it, I've not had any problems with mine leaving it cocked. I cock it on the walk in to the stand and if I don't shoot then I de-cock it. No Problems here!
