Getting ready to mix up a batch of minerals to get out in the woods.

This is what we use:

3 bags - trace mineral salt
1 bag - Hi phosphorus minerals 1-1
1 bag - Dicalcium phosphate
1 bag - Dried molasses

Was $110 or so for 300 pounds last time I bought it from Fleet Farm in Wisconsin.

What do you guys use?

Bear, baiting not allowed in WA. Deer and elk, no more than 10 gallons with a minimum of 200 yards between bait sites. I see that going away in the near future. With our governor's fish and game commissioners, I see many hunting related activities being pushed out. With an abundance of bear and decades of spring bear hunting, that was the 1st action of new commissioners. I use a similar blend as the OP, along with salt/mineral blocks.
I use the trace mineral blocks from Orchelens. On sale about $5 . During the summer I pour Black Magic over them to get the deer coming in. The blocks work great. A MO deer biologist suggested them.
If you use salt blocks as mineral sites
its not doing anything but giving your deer high blood pressure
do your homework a lot of these mineral recipes are loaded with salt
reaserch the best mineral sites for whitetail
will benefit your herd greatly

Deer are Ruminants. Ruminants need mineral salt during periods when consuming green vegetation. If not why do they seek out natural sites or cattle feed stations?
It's that time of year....as the clovers begin to green up, the deer will need additional minerals to offset the high moisture content in their browse. Added to my established sites yesterday.
I put out 2 bucket of minerals two weeks ago, they are hitting it

I have always used the same basic recipe from SC to OH with success. I put them out in February and touch them up in the summer and before the season opens. I take a 50lb block of trace minerals, the red one, and bust it into chunks with a sledgehammer. I find a place in a thicket off of a run and dig the dirt into a shallow hole. Put several pieces in the hole and cover with dirt. I use one block for 3 sites. I top it with general purpose mineral meal. Maybe a little molasses for the first time. The chunks take time to break down, and the granular is ready day one. This keeps me from pressuring the site for months. Find deer frequent the natural look better, like what they find in the woods. Total cost for 3 sites about $30.00 bucks tops.
Thanks USAF for your mineral rescipe

I just put out 2 salt blocks yesterday and still have another for a different property. I'll get down there next week and get it put out. I also put out one of my "$49" walmart markdown 2-man ladder stands last week. I already trimmed out the lanes before setting the stand but now I see I need the pole say to reach a couple limbs. IMO the deer dont seem to pay any attention to fresh cut shooting lanes as long as theyre done before the leaves come on the bushes, small saplings.
