First off your mileage might vary
.
I ran a little test one of my bows this morning.
I set a clean target up at 60 yards. Arrows are the gold tip 425 ballistic pro. Indexed and shot tuned by myself. Bow is a Excalibur Bulldog 360 the bow is the Huskemaw 4 power scope setting on a optimiser.
Here’s the target. The top group is shot with the cock vane down. Meaning the stiff plane is 12:00 to 6:00 or the dot is on the cock vane.
here we have a outside to outside measurement of. .730 the arrow shaft measurement was .343.
when you subtract the arrow measurement from the outside to outside measurement of your group you get Center to Center or your true group size. This is .387 inch group at 60 yards.
Now I rotated the cock vane clock wise using the next hen as the cock vane. Having a Excalibur using a flat knock allows me to safely do this. I’m using the same arrow just rotated the cock vane untunning the arrow. Then I shot another 5 shot group.
Here’s what it looked like.
Here we have a out side to outside group of 1.016 minus the arrow measurement we have a
.673. I hope I got that right
.
when we combine the groups we get a group size 2.116 after the math.
so as you can see the importance of index shot tuned arrows. And this points out while one arrow might shoot super good. For another arrow to match its poi it has to match it perfectly.
Just something to chew on.
