Bought the new deathstalker 420 and have been sighting in the scope. Within 50 shots the serving wrap has broken and is trying to unravel. I'm fairly new to crossbows so maybe it's my fault?

I know scorpyd says the rail doesn't need lubes so the only thing I've done is add 'scorpion venom polymeric fluid'. Should I have put the 'scorpion venom cam and serving lube' on the part string that rides the rail or just have added wax?

The question is what is to be done? Should I just buy a premium string and replace it? Recommendations?
Is there a temporary fix to finish hunting season?

Anyone else have a problem with a creaky draw?

Send Martymig a PM on here. He is making Scorpyd DS strings for half price as a Christmas special and was already at a great price. Then send him that string and have him reserve it.
I only use a tad of wax on my DS 420 string serving and rub it in well. Maybe once every month or two does it. I do not lube my rail at all.
Was it slowly fraying at the point where it broke? I had to polish my latches on my DS 420 to get it to stop fraying servings.

Yeah it gave within a handful of shots. I just waxed it up and it looks like I was just running it to dry. I'll check the latches and PM Marty. Ty

Edit. Cant view Marty's profile to PM him, does he have a Facebook page? How did you end up polishing it? Didnt take it apart did you?

If only 50 shots , I would contact Scroypd and let them know issues. They should offer you a new string.
Good luck.
But guys replied above sound reasonable.
I’m sure a new serving will be coming out in near future ( possible Teflon impregnated serving something like that)..

I just bought some 1000 to 2500 grit paper at Walmart auto and cut long thin strips and did one latch at a time using 1000 then 2500 grit till they were smooth.

It really seems to me Rogue has something going on with their servings and there's something up with it always being damaged by that left latch.

I'd get a new string and have your string reserved. Scorpyd might send you a new one. I'd contact them and let them know about the problem.

This x2....also, is your string touching the rail or is it above the rail? I have a DS380 and my string is above the rail about my strings diameter(gap)....??

I don't know what it is,but I have had horrible luck with the original string servings that come from Scorpyd.
I bought my 175 extreme fro Jerry and ten shots in the serving came loose.
Jerry being the stand up guy he is mailed me a string right away and told me to get in touch with ABB and they would re serve it at no charge which they did.
Your string as mentioned looks like a rough latch.

It's not Rogues fault. It's something to do with Scorpyd and either how they are putting the bows together or the parts are milled incorrectly or both. There's no way all those strings could have defective serving threads in the same exact spot. There's a Gremlin in this.

I believe pic 10 shows it. Since they went to the center crossing slide the bottom cable extends just a wee bit more than the top. At rest the timing is perfect when you draw the xbow one limb gets drawn just a little more meaning more pressure on one side. At the latches it tries to fight itself equalizing pressure. Hence why you see serving messed up on one side and, not the other. I have seen 2 other instances happen to make me even think about this and, it makes sense to me.
At least that's my theory.
I still like the center cable slides because I'm not replacing cable servings every year anymore and, there's zero accuracy issues using them at least on my xbows. Maybe on the narrow nemesis this issue gets magnified? No serving issues seen on my DS. Every serving I have gets Black Lightning tho.

Glad you mentioned this. I was thinking of putting one of the old slides in my Aculeus just to see if the wear stops. The slide extending farther past the barrel does pull down on the cables more.

Does Marty have a website for his strings?

So are there different length slides used on the same bows? I have a DS380....I'm not home right now to compare the pic to the slide on my DS380....??
