I just bought a Barnett Hyper Whitetail 410 crossbow. It’s my first foray into archery. I’m looking at this to be a hunting option from my centerfire and muzzleloader rifles.
I’m setting mine up with comfortable sling and quiver, and sharpening broadheads, for eastern TN hog hunt on May 5. Wish me luck!

Thank you! Plan is to check out a pig hunting lodge called “Clark Range” in eastern Tennessee on 5-8 May. I’ll bring my regular 308 pig hunting rifle as a backup but I’m excited to give my new crossbow a go.

On matter of backyard shooting, the safety aspect is well taken. I aim at a safe direction and at an angle that will put it into the ground if I miss. Plus I have a very substantial plywood backstop.
Have a good one!

Clarkrange Hunting Lodge will be new to me also. We’re checking it out because hunting site we used for years no longer exists. I will of course share pics and my honest opinion.
So for me this seems to be a good opportunity to change my way of hunting by getting the new crossbow
