Thanks for the info...maybe I will get something started there...actually it's funny you should mention Texas, my brother-in-law lives in Helotes on 11.5 acres, it's just outside of San Antonio...anyways we are actually thinking Texas also, I know ther are places there I could actually be in "Hog" heaven...part of that thinking is the outrageous G&F fees in New Mexico, even higher than California.
Moving to New Mexico or Texas won't be as bad for me as it will my kids...all they know is California, I was born and raised in a dumpy little dirt town in Arizona (Yuma), then I moved to Central Arizona, and from there to Great Falls, Mt. for 5 years, and then of course California....If it wasn't for hog hunting here, the hunting would be slim...try to get drawn for elk or even deer nowadays...so with California I am stuck hunting Hogs, Bear, coyoyes and bobcats, stuff I don't have to get drawn for. When this place gets alot of rain, the hogs are thick, now since the rain has been real slim, the hog population has dropped a little, that being said they are just a little harder to hunt down...Not near as plentiful as Texas. There was not near the hogs taken here in 07...as compared to the 4 preceding years...
Anyways...Later, Joe
