No matter what the cost, the consumer is spending the money and if it ends up not to be legal, what does the buyer do with the bow? So, it would be the buyer's worry. That is for Ravin to worry about.
They put it out for the public to buy.
We just shoot the things.
We do not usterdanded legalese LOL.
I love technology and my hat is off to Ravin.R18 - NEW FOR 2021
Utilizing the new proprietary VertiCoil Cam System, the R18 is the shortest Ravin ever created at just 18 inches in length. The VertiCoil Cam System rotates the ultra-small cams 720 degrees, coiling the strings and cables around the cam and cam axle allowing an axle-to-axle height of just 1.3 inches cocked or 4.1 inches when uncocked, with a static overall width of 4.75”. The R18 is a takedown style crossbow with limbs that expand vertically, shooting 330 feet per second. The R18 includes a detachable stock with an integrated removable quiver system, making the total length roughly 25 inches when fully in-tact. The unique 6-pound crossbow features the new Ravin 3-Dot Reflex Sight for easy target acquisition, and includes the Ravin built-in cocking mechanism, allowing for an easy draw. The R18 comes in black and is available Spring 2021.

Axle to axle height now... lol. i like it.NEW RAVIN R18
Ravin turns traditional crossbow design on its head with the R18, using the new VertiCoil Cam System to compact a full-power crossbow into a weapon a fraction of the size of all others, firing arrows downrange at 330 feet per second. Unlike any other crossbow in history, the takedown-style R18 is a narrow 4.75 inches wide only 18 inches long without its detachable stock configuration.
The proprietary VertiCoil Cam System that powers the R18 takes already legendary HeliCoil Technology and—literally—cranks it up. This system rotates the R18’s ultra-small cams 720 degrees, wrapping the crossbow string and cables around the cam and cam axle, resulting in an astounding axle-to-axle height of just 1.3 inches when cocked. The 6-pound R18 features a detachable stock with an integrated removable quiver system, built-in cocking mechanism for an easy draw, anti-dry fire/auto safety and built in sling mounts. Inside the box contains the new Ravin 3-Dot Reflex Sight for an easy target acquisition, three 350-grain 16-inch R18 arrows with field points and a removable draw handle. Yes, they still do.Do they still have the R10, 20, 26 & 29??
I believe they were working on this stuff for a while now. You are just now hearing about it.How Ravin could come with that much new technology in the year of COVID is unbelievable. What an tremendous accomplishment even if I’m not gonna buy new this year.
Why should they drop the prices more? With the price of the new Ravins they are now the budget priced bows.Yes, they still do.
I don't think the prices have dropped any, however.
- Kinetic Energy: 222 FT LBS
IMO all the Ravins are plenty narrow enough to make a good crossbow for the blind.I like the looks of the R18 for blind hunting. Just wish it were over 330 fps but I bet it sells like hot cakes.
9.9LBS! WhaaaatR500 E - NEW FOR 2021
Ravin is shattering industry standards once again with the new R500E. Along with unmatched speed and dimensions, the R500E has the new Ravin Electric Drive System, that allows users to simply press a button to cock and decock this crossbow, with the option to manually cock the crossbow with the included R500 Draw Handle. The Ravin Electric Drive consists of a 12-volt battery and motor unit that simply attach and detach to the stock.
