Ravin Hate

Wondering why I see so much negativity about Ravin crossbows on here? I am new to crossbow hunting this season and have not been so excited to be in the woods in a long time ever since I bought my Ravin. Ravin puts out a quality product in my opinion.

Most of isn’t hate of the actual bow but their detrimental advertising practices. Their slogan has fueled the wars in states fighting for crossbow inclusion and states that are trying to keep crossbow inclusion!

This sort of forum seems to attract much more than those of us who love our Ravin crossbows. It brings out haters, whiners, nay sayers, who was stupid and did something dangerous wth their crossbows in order to blames someone else for their stupidity, and guys who's price range is better suited to Walmart or Farm King. Unlike the claim of some, their advertising is spot on and a Ravin will do exactly what it is advertised to do and then some. There are hundreds of thousands of satisfied Ravin owners that you never hear from on here, precisely because they are completely satisfied in every way. Still, these groups serve a useful purpose in disseminating useful information in a positive constructive way.

Some folks like to Hide the Truth. Others like to Speak the Truth. Fact is Ravins do pack more wallop down range because of their railless design and they are very capable of the advertised long range accuracy.
In fact, I can spot a Mission Sub-1 shooter 70 yards and still deliver more KE at 100 yards and that's with just a R10.
If you review my past posts, you will see that I can back up my claims.

Crossbows keep getting better just like muzzleloaders. Who would of thought a muzzleloader would still be considered a primitive weapon with smokeless powder and with rifle like bullet trajectory out to 300 yards.
IMO, we should be more concerned about the dwindling number of young people participating in hunting than worried about crossbow innovation.

My apologies bird, have a problem with people talking down to hunters who cannot afford high priced xbows. Let my temper get the best of me.

I believe that Ravin makes a great, innovative bow...which is why I now own a R10. A proven platform highly regarded by those that own them. It's the "meet your next rifle" ads that I don't care for. Hopefully, this marketing strategy goes away.

I have had my r9 two years now without a single problem. Only thing I have changed are the string and cables from archery shack which worked great

its hard to like a company that has obsoleted most other bows currently on the market, there is the reason for so may sour pusses.
The advertising thing is just a port hole because there really is nothing else to to like .
Typically this the the point where some fool tosses up some old bloody finger pictures.
All righty then. LOL

Yup, same here, man!
It seems only Ravin owners are the ones that overlook a most detrimental advertising slogan! I’ve never said anything bad about their innovation. I unfortunately live in a state we’re we are still fighting to keep crossbows in the archery season! Videos of Ravin owners shooting from 100 out to 300yds and the advertising slogan has been the spearhead of the anti crossbow movement! People that know nothing of crossbows sees these videos and hear about “rifle like accuracy out to 100yds” is killing crossbow owners in our state! There’s NO refuting the facts!
