Well 21 days in the stand, six hours or better except for one day for a Doc appointment.
Total of 14 deer seen.
Public ground,big woods...
Nice bucks on camera but not in daylight.
I did see a little seven point the first day out but I couldn't get a quality shot.
I managed to take two does.
One with my Hoyt and a tru glo four blade . Only went 25 yards or so.
Second doe was with the Grim Reaper and an FOC and it too went about three jumps and I watched her pile up.
I had a brain freeze one night and forgot to de-cock the Grim reaper.
Left it out in my bike and hunted all the next day. Shot it at 30 yards the next night and it was dead on the money.
All in all a very pleasant hunt and the bucks will be bigger next year.
The weather was very mild for the most part and we only got decent snow yesterday.
The deer hunkered down and today( the last day) was a bust with no deer sightings at all.
Mother nature could have been kinder ,weather wise but you play the cards you're dealt.
Unbelievable how difficult it was to get the two miles off the main road it was today with the freezing rain weighing down the branches on to the road, but that's life when you live where the wind hurts your face....

Love the snow, makes it easy to tell old trail and new trails. Plus following the blood trail is a lot easier. Sorry you did not get your buck this season. I have not gotten a buck either but happy with the does I did get. Nice pics, like the fourth one. LOL

Meat in the freezer. Good season for you.

I'm with you on the bucks. I guess if it was easy would we do it with the same passion?

Now that is tree stand with with side benefits. :D

I hear ya, man! I just had another sit in one of my blinds in town...nothin! 4 times in a row, NOTHIN! :( The other dude that has permission is apologizing for spook'n them...he's learn'n at least! He's a good guy, just a bit noobish!!!
Closing day is the 20th, so we're gonna flip a coin to see which one of us will sit, while the other tries still hunting and gently pushing the buggars outta the swamp!!! We'll see how it works. Last resort measures now! Should be interesting to see what happens, with two nice bucks in there and quite a few others!! Probably tough way to get a decent poke at one though.

Tip of the hat to you Canuck for sticking it out and enjoying the grind for the ole boys.
That can of soup sure looks familiar. Post rifle, post rut, public land here is more a labor of love and
a thin slice of a chance around here.
