Nice buck there CA! Good luck with him. You grow them big up there for sure.
I love hunting big woods and usually spend 2 solid weeks up in Barrie's Bay chasing those big boys or in Maine, Northern NH, or Northeast Kingdom of Vt. When I was really healthy the idea of fresh snow had me drooling to get on a big track and chase him all day, then pick him up again the next day until one of the gang got him. This was with rifles or muzzleloaders but often we would catch them bedded down 30 meters away so crossbow would do just fine.
Now I do a lot more sitting dark till dark which is a different challenge in single digit temps Farenheit. Going on 7 straight weeks of hunting this season with only 4 or 5 missed or partial days. I can count my deer sightings on my fingers, passed couple small bucks that were slam dunks and couldn't get a shot at my big boy with the bow...yet! Only one more week to get it done.
