Looking to get into Cross Bow Hunting and not into a China vs US made products debate.

It is confusing as he-- out there with all the names and styles. Let me ask what to try if you want to try a China product for:
Either in Rage Hypodermic 100 gr
Swhacker 100 gr

Nap 3 blade 100 gr

What are all the style differences and what works for you if you want to do fun part time CB hunting?

You can get ill looking at all the options on EBay and not know what clone to get and what is cra-.

Thanks for the help. Jim

If you want to wound animals cheap, use a field point. Probably as apt to kill some with a field point as well. At least with a field point, you wont have delusions of whats going to happen.
My question to you. Why spend all that money on clothes, arrows, crossbow and other hunting accessories & gadgets, then get cheap on one of the most important aspects of bow hunting? The Broadheads!

Been asking about the China-Swhackers myself. Seems the ones that are ACTUALLY USING THEM can give some pretty good reviews. All the rest seems speculative to me. Also read some pretty good reviews on the China-Dermics too.

Those china products should kill just as fast but I would imagine they are one-and-done as far as how well they'
ll stand up but gotta try 'em to see. Heck! I don't mind....Ive been shooting $3 per pack of 3 broadheads (sale price though) for two years now and have killed every deer that I shot at.;):)

I’m sorry but this attitude is exactly why the American Dream has died! I’ll pay more and support US companies before I give any of my hard earned money to China!

Fine with me. You can spend your money the way you want and so will I.

There’s no sense in trying because there are some that will never get it or have a clue! There’s more involved than just the pennies that you saved. You’re an American that loves your rights and freedoms but slaps every person that has defended those intangible things in the face! But what da hell, you saved by buying on the internet from China.

BigBowMan, I also watched all the Indians move into my town buying up all the gasoline stations. I wouldn't buy from them, instead spending my money at American owned stations. The Indians sold for cheaper prices but still I bought American. As I watched though, I saw I was one of the "few" that was spending more of my hard earned money helping the Americans and everybody else was going where their pennies went the farthest, to wherever it was cheapest regardless who owned the gas stations. I tell ya what, you get all of the Americans to spend one heck of a lot more buying nothing but American made and I'll fall in line doing the same. Until then I have to spend where my money goes the farthest. Like a lot of folks, I don't have the extra money to pay 'premium' on everything I buy so I do the best I can with what I have. Have a Happy New Year.

I have said this so many times.
I blame it on the educational system.
Like a lot of folks, I don't have the extra money to pay 'premium' on everything I buy so I do the best I can with what I have.
The cheapest would be a fixed one piece broadhead like a Montec, which can be resharpened and used over and over again. A replacement blade head that can also be sharpened, would be the Steelforce Phathead.
Reuse is the cheapest way to go and still have a quality broadhead.

I appreciate the responses. I was not asking about a China vs US opinion but if you shoot the China clones what worked for you..... and I hope to get some more opinions on what works for them.
My crossbows are made in the USA and so are my broadheads. I switched to Swat broadheads. Shoot whatever you want and vote however you want. We have many choices here in the USA. Socialist countries have limited choice

It is a good thing that I did not bring up our last two candidates for president and ask your opinions. ;)

With all the games congress are playing feel like we are watching youth sports and it's politics not people that should spend more time running the country and less time plotting and planning against each other. Another good topic for another board. :)

Thanks,

Please dont take offense to this Hunter. Or the other guys that have tried and posted reviews and pics on these heads. I bought some myself and plan on trying them. But how can you recommend something you haven't tried yourself ? They could possibly fly like crap out of your setup:eek: but I hope not!

I wont recommend anything that I haven't tried myself.
No matter what has been said about it by others. No matter who they are! I've got a pile of heads and other what knots that some claim to be great! Turns out. They never even tried them in a lot of cases and were just going by what they heard or read.

They may be great heads but I wont tell others to use them until I try them for myself and give a real personal experience review. If we all claimed products were great without actually trying them. Where would that lead us? I know some of the reviews for these heads were by well respected experienced members. That's why I'm trying them. But not recommending them yet. Take no offense JMHO:D

Duct tape your wife's razor blade to the field point! ;) Can't beat the price then!!!

Jim I bought these Chinese 100gn 1.75"cut Swhackers to test. They were about $2 each. I made this video and have not shot them since. I shoot the real Swhacker heads and have had great success with them. 100gn 2" cut and the 100gn 3blade 1.5"cut.

The Knock offs did ok in my opinion. I didn't like the larger thinner slot in the ferrule making them weaker than the real Swhackers. The blades were fairly sharp and stood up to the 1/2" plywood. The head entered the plywood in the open position. IMO they are better than some other heads out there but just not for me.Good luck with whatever you choose.

You have convinced me to try the Real mechanical broadheads since the old Muzzys seem to fly off with the arrows that came with the xbow and the old Barnett quad bolts.

I was going to try the Rage Hypo, Swhacker and NAP to see what works best since the two old fixed seemed to take off in strange directions with three types of arrows I had.

Also ordered some Blood sport and Decimators in 20" since hunters seem to like them.

Any suggestions? I am curious where I keep reading that the retaining piece needs to be changed or reinforced out on these heads to keep them from opening in the air. Is there some good info on what to do for these?

Thanks for the help.

Out of town for couple of days but the gear will be in by this weekend when I get back and I am ready to figure what works for the cross bow.
Chrony on the bow and got 365-369 with 100 gr and about 10 fps less on the 125 with field points from about 10 feet out.
