On scan you need to continue to hold the thumb switch on the #1, for the #2 you can let off the thumb switch after it activates and it will scan for something like 40 seconds. I think on the #2 you hit the thumb switch once and it turns on and ranges right away. On the #1 you hit the switch to turn it on and have to hit it a 2nd time to range - no big deal for me.
The #2 sticks out further for something like 3/4” or so. If you want to mount it on the right side, the micro adjustment screws will be in front instead of the rear facing you as these were originally intended to mount on the left side of a compound bow.
I had a #2 and sold it, I have 3 #1 Vendettas now and love them. I mount mine on the right and use Scott Whitman’s bracket off eBay. If you have a 1” scope tube, his short bracket should work. If your scope is 30mm with a sizable windage cap like the Vortex XBR, then you’ll need a long bracket.
But I found the long bracket too long so I had him make a special on for me between the two lengths, and reverse the way the cap screw tightens the clamp against the rail. I don’t think he’s making any more of the hybrids like I requested. I even made a couple myself that work but I have trouble with tolerances ousing my drill press and mill vice.
Adjusting the #2 is a pita I think, the #1 is so much easier. I sort of follow Leupolds sight in process but I try to get the sight in laser a tad closer to the scope’s crosshair at 40 yards or so. Let me know if you have any more questions.
Going through this right now. I picked a Ven 2 and with Scotts mount to mount it under the scope this is as close as it gets. At first I thought this would not be good but after playing with the bow and shouldering it a bit I think it will work fine. That is the biggest drawback of the 2 over the Ven 1 is the way that it mounts. If you do get the Ven 2 You can pick up the piccatinny mount on ebay for 50$ its a must have. aluminum crossbow mount bracket leupold Vendetta or Vendetta 2 rangefinder 30317680008 | eBay
SHTFCO - your pic is one of the reasons why I got rid of my Vendetta #2 - sticks out almost an extra 3/4". I have all #1 with the Scott Whitman bracket on my crossbows and are all mounted on the right side.
