i have been building arrows for my compound for 40 years now that i am shooting a x bow i want to build my own bolts.i know the easton xx75 2219 ,13.9 gpi is somewhat popular. i have some xx78 2317 super slam at 13.3 gpi. any reason that i cannot fletch these up and hunt with them.my x bow is the killer instinct rush 370.will the half moon nocks fit into my shafts.i have a blitz jig.

Before you cut the 2317s down, you might list them for trade on Stickbow or a vertical bow forum. No doubt you could get XX75, maybe XX78 shafts in 2219 or 2216 for them. Then nocks aren't an issue and the string will center evenly on the arrow.

I did some shaft trading a few years ago and ended up with a lifetime supply of both 2216s and 2219s in both XX75 and XX78. Most had never been shot.

Just remember a critical part that most crossbow trigger boxes cannot handle any arrow larger than 0.350. Case in point. The Mission sub-1 cannot even allow an arrow that is 0.348" OD and 2317 is 0.359" OD
