I just replaced the limbs and string for my mag340; string seems very tight but looks to be at appropriate length (bow shop did the swap for me). Does this look ok and is it normal for the string to seem stiff initially? Thanks

Looks good to me also, if the bow shop installed it at the "recommended brace height" it would be against the REDS in no time due to stretch. I also install my new strings with the initial extra brace height, they will stretch a bit and settle in. The one thing I'm paranoid about is not having the string put pressure on the REDS, I've seen multiple Excalibur's where the string is actually deforming them due to improper brace height, that's a NO NO on Excaliburs!

Looks like a perfect brace for a new string. Send a few down range and give it a couple days and it will settle into normal position…

I would not be happy the way that bowstring is served.
There is no serving where the bowstring hits the string stops
which can eventually damage the strands of the bowstring.
All my crossbows, I make sure that serving extends a wee bit
past the outer edge of the string stops.
Wishing you all the best.
Take care.

I prefer the serving to extend past the bumpers also but have not really had or herd of problems with the shorter serving .
When its time for a serving job I reserve past the bumpers .
But manufactures are looking to save money and boost speed so shorter servings is what they do .

That’s true - it’s a factory string… Get with @Myers and get yourself a couple of his flemish strings! You’ll be much better off IMO! Excellent strings!
