Crap like this is why I no longer buy $400 blinds. I've lost 1 to bear & 3 to falling trees in a 4 year span

They sure do. This one looks like a couple cubs had recess in it.

 

Now I don’t feel so bad with the bears attacking my mock scrap ropes all fall.

 

You have to stop leaving hidden stashes of stuffed pretzels in those blinds. I believe I warned you about that last year....or at least I should have. Either that or get an electric fence that Brown Bear guides in Alaska use to protect their campsites.

 

At least you weren't in it at the time! Just read today, where another guy got killed by a bear in Arkansas ,second one in recent time.

They are rough on stuff. I can’t run a trail camera in one of my favorite spots because they destroy em. Even tore up one of the bear proof housings once. The last camera they ate they just bit into the camera and crushed the SD card

 

That's a bummer. I had a bear ruin one of my blinds a couple of years back. Coincidentally, it was a Tidewe also.

 

On the plus side I think you have found a work around to the no baiting rule.

 

I wonder if it is t something in the materials. I’ve heard that Ford has a recall on some vehicles because mice have been chewing tubing that contains soy.

 

Soy has been used in making the electrical insulation on many newer vehicles. Squirrels, mice, etc just love that stuff.

 

I'm so glad i don't have that problem yet but its close. I got my first Bear pic ever this year on a trail camera. I guess guys within a few miles of me are having feeders tore up.

I hate it you guys have to deal with this.

Depending on how many blinds you have pick up a gallon or two of the Atsko Water guard extreme.

After the season, remove the blinds and wash them with soap and water inside and out. Then rinse.

When they have dried put the Atsko water guard extreme in a pump sprayer. Completely coat, the roof and the walls of the blind on the outside.. it can take a half a gallon to 3/4 of a gallon to completely saturate the material. Leave it in the sun for a day or two and let it dry. That will protect it from the sun and the elements. I’d be willing to bet the bear won’t like the taste of that treated blind. Besides, it will extend the life of the blinds.

Is it difficult for you to get bear tags? Do you guys hunt them?

 

We can hunt them. I usually don't but they are forcing my hand to get a tag. They won't be here by the time season rolls around though. The corn will be gone by then and they will crawl back to the swamps and mountains they came from.

 

The hunting seems to be the other way around.

bears can destroy anything- a few years back went in for an afternoon hunt came out and bears had ripped the seat off the 4 wheeler and shredded it - would rub hides on box blind legs till they needed to be replaced, not a fan of them, good luck with a solution

Yeah..... about that. Was it hunting tonight and had this little guy come thru. The trail camera picked him up. I think I could take him lol.

Now this one... doubt it. It's heading right towards Bunjie's trail camera. 😬 If you zoom in on the bottom pick you can see it coming up the field. I can't believe the camera was able to pick the bear up that far away. Crazy.
