Does anyone have a good idea on what to use as a backstoop for broadheads that wont ruin them or should I just save a cpl 3 just for that purpose/

Been posted on many for the bow hunting web sites....plus on here !

Simply use a large storage container cut a opening to put a piece of cardboard to shoot at then fill with rubbertire chunks for landscaping. It stops any broadhead and is fairly cheep.

Or a sand pile but it can be very rough on broad heads. Even sand bags they just need to be replaced.

You should probably share what type of broadheads, because my experience is with fixed blades only.

I tried the suggested rubber mulch packed into a bucket or cardboard box, but I didn't really care for it. I found the rubber mulch left a lot residue on my broadheads, & I was shooting a compound bow.

I prefer my Rinehart Rhinoblock. I have had same Rhinoblock for a long time, but I try to keep my broadhead shots to the removable insert. I try to buy Rinehart's cheaper blemished inserts whenever possible.

If I wasn't still happy with my Rhinoblock with removable inserts, I would probably consider the crossbow targets by BIGshot. The BIGshot Titan 10X HD Crossbow Target looks like it would take a lot of hits. I can't speak from experience on the BIGshot, but it looks good (better than the Morrell High Roller in my opinion).

Bottom line - broadheads are tough on targets, & bags targets simply don't work.

Our local archery range has raised platforms with sand piles to shoot broadheads into, but I typically practice at home.

The hunting arrows in my quiver have been shot with their current broadheads (125 grain Slick Trick Viper Tricks). I make sure every arrow/broadhead combination flies great with dull practice blades, & then I switch out the dull blades with sharp ones. This is probably easier to do with fixed blade broadheads. I don't trust practice heads.

Although I don't hunt with my crossbow, my approach would remain the same if I did.
