Thought I give an opinion someone might benefit from. I'm a true Barnett and Ten Point hater. Both had high speed bows I bought shot and failed before they reached the field. Really liked the Ghost 410 and the Vapor, both didn't make it thru tuning. When I first got into crossbows, bough my son and I Quad 400s. His shot great, loved it. Mine, string unraveled after a few shots. Barnett says just puah it back together. Worked for a few shots, the whole serving started unraveling. Returned it to BP. Got another one. 2nd shot, string breaks. Returned it, waited a week and got the ghost 410. Really liked the speed and the feel of the 410, cool bow. Same issues. Returned it and closed the door on Barnett products unless they give me one for testing and promotional purpose. Kid got nervous about his Quad. He was standing next to me when the new ones string broke. So we picked him up a HAVOC 175 he really likes. But his Quad in the closest. Hadn't thought about the Quad 400 we put away last year. After that, went thru a similar experience with a Vapor, got away from that one quick. Went to Darton and haven't looked back. Well had my ultimate bow,Darton Fireforece broke and didn't want to use the kids HAVOC during the season. Pulled the old quad out today. Put ViperX strings in it and a excaliber scope. Sighted in quick. Shooting a 125 grain head, BP crono says 376fps. Faster then rated. It will break arrows at 20 yards. Speed ring on the excalibur only goes up to 350, so the shots high on the 30 yard pin. But very solid consistant shooting bow. Ebay has lots of these bows going for 250 to 350. I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE OVERLOOK THESE WORKHORSES. YES SOME HAVE PROBLEMS, SOME FAIL COMPLETELY, BUT IF THIS WAS YOUR PRICE RANGE, ITS one I'd highly recommend. Speed of 376 shooting 125s Barnett Headhunters arrows means its in the medium high range for speed. Good arrows may make it perform even better. But folks buying in the $300 range should consider this one. IMO
