I know a Thorn hpx head will fly good out of any Ravin bow really.
They are not cheap. Fly good though.

 

Pinpoint accuracy is a positive but they also need to get the job done. The design of the thorn scares me a bit.

The Rage Hypo's with collars seem to be a good choice. I've shot em a bunch but haven't shot them past 70 yrds yet out of my Ravins.

I will be using thorn more this season.
Will show pics and talk about what happens with each kill.
Range, distance traveled after shot, etc.

 

I have had excellent accuracy with the swat Xmag chisel tip and Moab. Out of R10 and R29x

 

Swat X Mag is my favorite by far!

 

I haven't shot one with them past 30yrds yet. They sure do a great job for close range work.

 

Grim Reaper Pro Series fly just like a field point, the GR razor tips are not as accurate. (1”low and right)Rage Hypo’s with collar fly same as field point. All shot at 30 yds with R20. Just tested them yesterday and today

 

Are u talking the fixed blades or mechanical in pro series

The buck below was 45 yards away...he weighed 235 LBS...He took exactly 2 jumps and fell over like a truck had hit him!

There are 2 choices of X Mags Chisel points and cut on contact.

I really like both...but i cant pick one over the other.

Swat minis better choice imo vs swat magnums. You still get a lot of cut with the minis.
I have 3 or 4 of the minis left.
Will use them when hunting close to property lines and when it’s raining.

Why the minis over the magnums? Think you'd want more cut by the property lines and when its raining.

Rage hypo will give you very good accuracy

 

I like the Hypodermics but always put a dental band on mine as extra insurance against premature opening when hunting. They make a hell of a hole. That is the entrance hole.

 

Shouldn’t you be using a red collar for crossbows?

 

The best blood trails I've seen and fastest I've ever seen them fall was with the Swat xmags pushing the 430fps mark.

 

Red collar for Ravins. Not black collar. Had black collar open up using slower Excalibur micro 335. Broadside big racksd buck at 40 yards. Never touched him. Didn’t realize what happened until next day. Foot stirrup had gauge down it.
I have never had a problem with red collar opening. Shot around 35 deer with rage and red collars. Even putting blade outside the ground rove using red collar they always opened up.
Some deer shot past 55 yards too. All the way out to 62 yards on laser.
