Bullpup?

I have read on a few posts and get the impression. But could be interpreting completely wrong since I am new to crossbows. What is a bullpup design and what would give any thought of any danger to the shooter? I have some bullpup PCP air guns and their action is extended to the rear of the stock. Are there crossbows like that. I must not be noticing something.

thanks

A lot of bows have the trigger mechanism displaced behind the actual trigger giving the bulldog or bullpup design feature to them. Few have the latches all the way at the back of the bow - The Swat series of bows are a good example of that. As I’m sure you know it just allows a longer power stroke in a shorter overall bow. It is a feature I for one appreciate as I like a more compact bow, always have - 56” recurves, 60” hybrid longbows, 28” compounds, <30” crossbows…
