Went to use my Charger ext crank today and discovered that my hooks won’t retract back up. I’ve never ran across this before. I’ll call my local dealer tomorrow and see if they can help. If you have had any experience with this what did you do to solve this problem. I’m wondering how hard it is to change the spring out, it must have broke. I bought the crank just after I bought my BULLDOG 400

Don't bother with your local dealer.

Go direct to Excalibur.

The spring is repairable yourself, Excalibur even published a video on it. I've done it myself once, do-able but will probably send it to them this next time around, mine failed for a 2nd time recently but I'm going to wait until after season. Still usable without that feature.

Is there anything that the user does that contributes to the spring breaking. Mind had been used and didn't have any issues. When I went to use it I felt the spring break so sent it off for repair. Probably three weeks later I grab the crank off the shelf to use it and it's not retracting again so thinking another broken spring.

I bought mine towards the end of 2018 or the start of 2019 and it has worked fine on my Bulldog 400. I just went to use it and it was broken.

My Charger EXT crank spring broke due to a my own dumbness. I contacted Excalibur, explained exactly what I did, and they sent me a new spring for no charge. I am somewhat mechanical and was able to replace the spring rather easily myself.
