Excalibur DeadZone SpeedScope Setup

I was able to purchase this scope up for $30. Thinking of trying it out. However, it did not come with instructions. Does it work to the following general guideline

Sight in at 20 yards.
Move target to 40 yards and pick a spot at the top of the target and shoot using the 20 yard reticle. You will hit several inches low.
Aim without an arrow using the 20 yard crosshair at the same target spot as before. Now turn the speed dial until the 40 yard reticle aligns to arrow you shot at 40 yards.

Yes that is one way to go about it and to get your distance triangles dialed in. Then after doing that and you hit high at 40, turn speed dial slightly up and repeat. If you hit low then turn it down.

My scope came in today. I'm impressed. I will put it through some archery range time and will max out its reticle distance.
