Yet ... another Developmental League crossbow? You know, the crossbows that precede buying the major league stuff? :p 😂

The veiw from the minor league dugout suits me just fine. Major leagues stuff is WAY too expensive for my taste.

And then there's the bunch that "NEEDS" all the "Bells and Whistles"!! They have to have the latest and greatest Doodad that comes along. Otherwise, their life isn't complete!! 🤣😂
Whistles and bells! Flashy things and twinkly lights! Change for the sake of change! Sells more stuff that eventually ends up stacked on the shelf or hanging on a hook with the previous "gotta have it cuz they say it's better" stuff!
And then there's the bunch that just want things simple, have no interest in new technology and yet at the same time can't wait to fire volleys at those who could care less if others enjoy shooting what they enjoy.
Always hard to understand

When I first got into crossbows four years ago, I looked long and hard at the Excalibur brand, and shot several models at the local pro shop. Did the same for Mathews crossbows. I owned two Mathews models for the first two years, but eventually shifted over to TenPoint. I found the narrow width and the ease of cocking and decocking from any position more suited to my age and hunting style. Most things in life are a series of compromises. As I got more knowledgeable about crossbow care and maintenance, I made the choice to go with what I shoot now. I know Excalibur is easier for the average guy to maintain, but they don't have many of the features I need and want. That being said, several of my younger friends shoot Excalibur and they are very pleased and have experienced great success on deer. You just have to find what works best for you, and be open to all the options that are out there. A bull's eye is still a bull's eye, a dead deer is a dead deer. How you achieve those two goals is still up to what the individual thinks is best for them.
I used a friends Excalibur, one season , while a very decent crossbow, I labeled it as a clunker, I need narrow and fast handling, I found the package in the TP,Vengent S440 just about perfect, not knocking the bow just my opinion, the narrowness of the Vengent is phenomenal.

Remember Matthews infamous "SoloCam"? Gotta have it! Do they even make a SoloCam anymore? Why not if it was so revolutionary?

I am even old enough to remember when R made a 500 fps crossbow!
I shot a new one today and watched about 40 others being shot.

The Matthews Genesis bow. NASP. 😊

I've been teaching NASP for 3 weeks at a local Charter school and the kids absolutely love it, the Mathews Genesis is a great starter bow for kids getting introduced to archery at a very young age, I think this program will help keep kids interested in the sport of archery as they get older.

Hester,
I’m in my 5th year of teaching elementary, jr hi and sr hi NASP at our local school. So much for retirement😊.
I strongly encourage others on this board to get involved with NASP. There may be no better way to give back to the sport we love.
