Just tested a couple of low cost but good bows, Barnett Whitetail Hunter STR 375, reported speed from Barnett is 375fps with a 380 grain arrow, tested today with 400 grain total weight arrows and the speed was 373, 373, 375, 372, 376 and 373 fps.
Tested an XP 350 thinking it would chrono 20-30 fps slower than advertised putting it right at 330/320 again Barnett list speed test as shot with a 380 grain arrow. Nope, I shot the same 400 grain arrows as the STR and got the following 357, 357, 357, 350, 355 and 357 fps.
Chrono was 8 feet in front of bow, sunny 54 deg day. Both bows are new Sept 2020 production on the XP350, Jan 2021 on the other. Arrow are a set of six Barnett Headhunter 22", listed as 6 thou, weight checked all within 1 grain .
Big thumbs up for being better than advertised as apposed to many other brand tests that fall short (the new norm).
