Just made an impulse purchase of Wrath 430

There was a Woody’s Archery in Wernersville PA. For a time, it was Excal’s US service center. I heard the owner has passed. Not sure if this is the same place under new ownership, or something else. Looked at each tab on the site and couldn’t find any address.

I tried Google etc and could not find address. From reading their forum the company was formed a few years ago (4 years or a bit longer).
It’s gotta be a different business then. The place I was referring to was in business at least since the 1990s. Not saying they don’t make good arrows, just that it’s a business I’m not familiar with.

The vast majority of people who actually own the Wrath seem very pleased with it. If you have questions about the crossbow you purchased, it would be a good idea to seek advice from someone who actually owns one. I would suggest someone like @TX_RDXguy , who has owned several. As someone who seems new to crossbows, you also seem eager to learn. One thing to keep in mind is the specific model of crossbow and folks that have knowledge of that crossbow. It can be confusing and counterproductive to take an experience with a different crossbow and extrapolate to attempt to connect those experiences with your crossbow.

Yes this got good reviews including speed and accuracy, though there are problems as well in strings and limb, maybe early stage? Somebody even got hurt from flying limbs.

I owned a Barnett Hunter II for several years but never checked anything other than lube and wax. So with the vast knowledge and experience here you guys have, I figure I would learn and push this to limit, for reliability, accuracy and power in that order. The knowledge shared are very useful so I can look for problems if anything goes wrong such as when shots are not grouping.

I appreciate many of you guys for being adventurous, it is really the pioneering spirits that kept innovations going. I am sure some of you will step up one day to lead next round in crossbow evolution, that all comes from tirelessly pursuing of best, not just adequate.

As for me, I really like to learn and tinkering, but short of time. Really need to spend more time shooting as well
I don’t know for certain, but I suspect a lot of those reviews that say a string blew up in a few shots most likely loaded a moon nock the wrong way. Even the CP 390 that @bunnyrabbit has shot for thousands of shots has reviews that say the string blew up in a few shots. I wasn’t there, but it’s a pretty good bet what happened.

@TX_RDXguy seems to know these bows as well as anyone, so I would defer to him, but from your pic, it looks like you could add a few twists to your cables, which would give it more speed. You probably shouldn’t go under the minimum ata cocked.
