This probably won't be a popular opinion but personally I think you should hang it on a wall as a decoration and buy a modern crossbow for actual use. While I don't have experience with vintage crossbows I do with vintage compound bows. They suck. Any cheap compound bow made in the last 20 years is 10 times better than any 1970's or early 80's compound bows.

Any modern crossbow is likewise gonna be better in every way for actual use. It will be better performing and far safer. It's a cool discussion piece to decorate a wall but I wouldn't try to actually use it.
