As some of you remember our Old Hunting Buddy Jim (JCAT) passed away a couple days before Christmas in Rositer PA. Jim was a great friend of mine for several years and we did many hunts together chasing Deer, Bears and Turkey. Well with the first PA season since Jim passed getting ready to start, I wanted to wish everyone good luck and im sure Jim will be watching over all of you from the Promised Land and will chase those big bucks past all of you guys.

I sure miss you Brother…i hope you found some nice hunting spots for us when i arrive in a few years!

Be safe out there Fellas!

At 65 years young JCAT left this world way too soon. God has his reasons though even if we cannot understand them.

Good luck to all you Pa. hunters.:)

I really miss Jim we would text on phone some about bows and our hunting spots. I always had questions about things and I would ask him. I’ve got our texts saved on my phone still to this day 😢 and still go back and reread them he was a damn good guy and I miss him dearly. He thought the world of you Todd your name would always come up for some reason lol you were his brother Todd. He’s watching down on yu I know. It hurt me so much when yu called me and told me he was gone. I couldn’t believe it. You just don’t know when it’s your time to go, but you better be ready and have things right with the man upstairs for no one knows when it’s time it’s just matter of being ready and knowing your ready.

Thanks for the kind words fellas…im sure Jim is smiling when he reads them! A couple of my buddies told me to get off Crossbow Nation they said it was just a bunch of angry old men and people trying to sell their wares? Well maybe their right…but there are so many truly great friends ive made on here the rest doesnt matter!

So in 2022 Bow Season i lost 2 shooter bucks in Illinois in a 24 hour period. Ive hunted all over the world since 1975 and never had a season anything like that. (They found one of the bucks big 8 point weeks later with arrow stuck in shoulder on back side a little high…never found the other a huge 10 point). Anyways it was only 3rd day of hunt but i got up quietly packed my truck and left camp completly crushed. I knew it wasnt my hunting/shooting skills I practice shooting all year and shot competition archery for many years. I just couldnt explain the losses? So about half way back i call Jim he says Well youll be home by Dinner get a good nights sleep and get back in Ohio stand in the morning. I said nope i think i might hang up my hat for a season or two…im too discusted with myself. Well I bet he called me 3 times as i drove home telling me to get back on that horse etc. I finally gave in…2 days later i shot a 155 inch 15 pointer. ( i call that Buck Mr Jimmy) I swear that had it not been for my Brother Jim id have never seen that deer! Thats the guy Jim was he always said and did the right things…i sure miss him.

Be safe out there fellas!

Todd, I got on my emails this morning and seen your post about Jim. Thank you so much for that tribute. He loved the first day of archery. I actually went and got my license on Thursday and cried the whole way home, but I knew if I didn't get them he would have been so disappointed in me. I tried to go the first day but couldn't do it. But I will get out there I know he will be with me telling me to follow through. Miss him so much and I want to thank all your friends who also posted nice things about him. Thanks again Todd.
