Ravin R26 new strings/cables questions

I helped buddy change the strings on our R26 today with a Ravin press as it was my first time ever.
He has changed plenty of makes but his first time with a Ravin.
The new strings were 1/4" shorter than the originals, which had 400+ shots on them.
We attributed that to stretch and although we wanted to take measurements and pictures prior to the swap, we forgot to.
Old timers kicking in and too much yapping going on.

So we changed the bumpers first, then string and finally cables.
Axle to axle was 9-1/4", bang on to factory spec, but noticed the string was being bent by the bumpers, i.e. no gap between the bumpers and string.

Gave the string 5 CW twists, a little better but string still bent a bit.
Gave the string 5 more CW twists and now ATA is 9" bang on, 1/4" less than factory, which does not concern me as I am changing all our arrows to have 125 to 150 gr field points and BHs.

But, the string is still touching the bumpers.
Factory strings and bumpers.

Shot it twice and seems ok, no scope so about 3 yards.
Gained 1/4" axle to axle, so now it's 9-1/4" uncocked.

Main question is any R26 users, does your string touch the bumpers uncocked?
I never even bothered to look in one year so shame on me.

Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.
Cheers,
dyno.

Perfect, thanks Bootscraper, appreciate it.
Good thing was, both cams stayed in synch regardless of the string tension.
Now we take 8-10 twists back out CCW.
Or, keep it cocked for an hour and let it stretch out?
I dunno.
I'm still a newb when it comes to fiddling with them but I think I can handle this change myself.
The cable change was the PITA part for us.

Acknowledging that this is an older thread, but just to throw it out there.

The "new" Ravin string sets appear to be a huge improvement over the older ones. Serving material is different and appears to be wrapped much better. I've only had the set on for a week or so and maybe 25 shots, but no serving separation so far. Not even a hint that it's coming soon. I would not have been able to say that about the old string and cables (specifically the cables, really). They would start to separate a tiny bit on day one or two, at least at the served loop ends, and get worse from there.

And FWIW, I would never recommend going less than the factory spec on the ATA on any Ravin. Not even 1/4". These bows are already operating right on the bleeding edge of a failure point and going less than spec on ATA could quickly put them right over that edge. If anything, I'd recommend going a bit wider than the factory spec ATA. Just my thoughts.
