Great thanks to David at Wyvern Creation’s for getting my new R470 E here in short order after receiving my cashiers check. This bow shoulders, fits perfect and balances better than any crossbow I’ve owned and the fit/finish is definitely top of the line. Now have to get time to shoot it as I’ve have been so busy with family here for 2 weeks and now renting out my lake home in Mn. In the process of figuring out my options for a scope set up as I’m limited to 8X max power in western states I hunt with no built in rangefinder on night electronics. Question: Anyone have experience with a Ravin Sniper Scope that has the yardage adjustability knob on top?? That or another JackPlate/Scope setup but I’d like to shed the JackPlate weight if possible. I ended up going back to it on my R29X after selling the Huskemaw which was only 4X and the reticle was just too dim when lit. Any recommendation as I want the most accurate set up possible down to the yard for hunting out west where a 50-55 yard shot can be necessary when stalking Mule Deer.

I haven't tried that crank yet but, I've really liked what I saw through videos so far. No frills back winding bs and, a positive stop. I'm going to watch this one the closest because it checks a bunch of desires I have as I grow older. One ? maybe you can answer is the string serving diameter because I will be using Firenock +'s someday. Never did I think I'd be thinking about a Ravin but, their checking more of my boxes going forward than anything else. I hope they hold up.

I'm sure the TenPoint TRX 26 is nice. AJ has tried them all and if he has high praise for the TP, you can bet it's a nice crossbow.

But for the life of me, I don't understand why TP would ship a bow with an arrow that appears to protrude from the front almost 4".

But if I had to guess, they do it because a 16" arrow will often times penetrate the target so far, you can't easily remove it.

Nonetheless, I've gotta give Ravin Kudos where it belongs.

They not only beat the speed of the TRX, even though it's an RDX design and only 1/4" shorter, but they brought the mobile string latch so far to the rear that the 20" arrow barely protrudes out the front.

Who would have guessed???

Imagine if Ravin flipped those limbs around what they could achieve with lower poundage. That very well could end 10pt.
Why is it that Burky is the only one who has made a xbow as described?lol I mean flip the limbs around and, there's a railess swat x1.....with ballz.

firenocks description

Firenock U+ style lighted nock is designed to work with Ravin 500fps crossbows that have to work with clip-on style nocks. Firenock U+ style is to fit a crossbow arrow with an Internal Diameter of 0.300" and string serving of 0.133" OD without the presence of a bushing that would change the ID of the shaft, i.e., one must remove the bushing on the Ravin Arrow before it can be correctly installed. It is known that some Ravin 500 fps crossbows have string serving OD size that is smaller than 0.133", which U+ style nock will not fit well. While some older ravin string serving is at 0.127", which a "C+" nock is what you should be using instead. Please discuss the ramifications with your bow shop or custom string maker. It is advised to use Aerobolt III as the projectile shaft due to the extreme pressure that is asserted by a 500 fps crossbow.

To fit crossbow shafts with a 0.300" ID
To fit string serving with 0.133" OD
U+ and U+5 has a 0.123" and 0.128" opening respectively; the "5" in U+5 means it has an opening that is 0.005" larger.
Available in two color (anodized orange or green)
The U+/U+5 nock alone weight in at ~27 gn
This package contains 3 metal nocks
Should be used with AeroBolt III to prevent shaft splitting due to expreme pressure.

Wow AJ.
I agree with Sonny. Awesome looking arrows.

BTW, many of you might have already seen this because it's actually 2 years old.
But here's a great explanation from Lancaster Archery as to how the electric drive works on the R500 and now the R470 as well.

I'm still not a convert as are I'm sure many of you. But it's nice to know as I get older, this setup can keep me in the game.
