Had time to do my prep the Ten Point way and want to thank tree/rat, TXRDX_guy and Farm Deer. You all helped me out with your collective Ten Point and Venom X knowledge. Started two days ago using Scorp Venom Lube to condition the strings and cables. Also, got familiar with the CCD cocking and de-cocking then waxed the strings and cables with Scorpion Venom Wax. I'm sure there are other lubricant options but this is my goto for waxing cables. Used Trident silicone grease to lube the rails.

Out of the box uncocked ATA was 13.25". I have learned from Ten Point not to focus on specs but chrono the Xbow to make sure it meets speed specs. I was using 411.8gr ASAP, 18" arrows, Bhoning X3, 2.25" Vanes, 2° left offset. Cocking the CCD took me 5 shots to get comfortable and oriented with the Accuslide CCD. Not lying it was a bit intimidating at first but watching Ten Point video is very helpful. Damn, the new CCD is so much nicer and easier, at least to me vs my Turbo S400 days. Also, way better than anything I've tried before vs add on CCD setups. Not sure. how Ten Point did it but the Venom X naked with the handle attached to the frame weighs in a 7.66lbs. Impressive Ten Point!

Weight the Xbow sans any scope/sight/elevator

My hunting setup weight: 8.26lbs. Hell yea! That's a great setup for long stalks or walk in's to a blind or tree climber/ladder stand. I'll be using a tactical single sling with this xbow.

Day one is over taking 16 shots that included chronoing and sighting in at 20 yards. Chrono coffirmed my Ravin Jack Plate speed tape at 389fps. I ended the day with one shot just before low light at 41 yards with my Sig Romeo5 Red Dot.

Chorno Speeds matches close to OEM Specs. I'll shoot more tomorrow and re-chrono the Xbow to see how fast it shoots after the strings settle in. Out of the box this xbow is easy to setup and shoot.

In the arms the Venom X is light and my big take away is how evenly balanced the Xbow feels in my arms. Fo sho not a front end heavy bow. Recoil has minimal vibration. I have shot quieter Xbows though. This is more than good enough. I classify my first day impressions thinking "Hell yea, This Dawg Will Hunt and going west.

However, I do have a one drawback that does leave me thinking WTH Ten Point? Not a major negative but first impression not impressed. I thought I'd like the Tree hanger stirrup but the design misses the mark. At least to me. If I'm leaning the Xbow on the stirrup there is little balance that prevents the xbow from tipping over. Be wary of this. Hanging in a tree a non factor but if one is hunting in a blind it's gonna be a challenge not for this Xbow to tip over if it's not in a Bog Pod. Below is a pic that shows what I'm talking about. Is it a deal breaker oh hell no. just not thought out if one leans the Xbow in a blind against the wall. Good chance it will tip over. Be on alert for this.

I did this numerous times today. Thought I had it balanced and walked back with the Xbow in this position.

Wished Ten Point used this stirrup for the Venom X. That stirrup would prevent the Xbow from tipping over because it has a wider base to balance the Xbow. Again, not a deal breaker at all. Just my personal preference and sharing my impressions.

This is a dynamic Xbow at a fair price point. Also, Venom X is exactly what I'd hope it be. It's a blend of modern technology and old school Riser build using traditional cables and bowstring. That's a home run for me.

Accuracy is as good as any Xbow I've shot.

Note: All shots were off. a shooting stick so there is a margin for shooter error without magnification. Tomorrow is a new day. Next week I'll stretch it out to 60 and 80 yards. Damn, I like this Xbow. I really do. Ten Point you hit it out of the park with the Venom X.

One shot at 41 yards after I sighted in at 20 yards. Ha, I'm guessing black heart POA. Yea, I was guessing where it was but it's an educated guess. Need a better target background but using what I had at the moment. Will test at 30 yards too to make sure my tape gapping is accurate. At the least I'm close.

Windage perfect low 2-2.5". Not bad for first time testing the speed tape at 41 yards.

Kissing cousins I plan to take west at this time. My Hyper Raptor is down with Flight Rail stock out for warranty exchange.

Tom, glad you are liking the bow. If you want a slightly wider stirrup for the bow, this will get you set.

Tom you will be stacking arrows at 80 yards in no time at all. Looking at your tree hanger on your bow appears Tp does not install the same hanger on them.
Mine is different from yours, mine is just a piece of 1/4” formed rod with rubber dip.
Now you know why I converted mine to a folding stripp much nicer when target shooting or doing maintenance. But all in pretty sweet bow for a grand built in THE Ohio. lol pun intended state fans. Tic Tok Tom today is a knew day.

Randy, thanks, I'll gravitate to that. Wished mine had that stirrup. That fo sho will take care of my balance issues per my comments.

Lol, it's not like your waking anyone up. Post whenever is convenient. We will just wake up to good content. Win win
Thank you for your patience. The journey continues. Honestly, I can't see wanting more than this Xbow. The speed is lethal for any animal in the USA. I figure once strings settles using a 411gr arrow I'll be shooting 385/387fps. That speed is perfect for string and cable longevity.

Two stage trigger takes getting used to. There is maybe a 1/4" creep then second stage firms up and is crisp when you squeeze/pull the trigger to fire off the shot. More than acceptable and doesn't take away from accuracy.

Thanks Randy and for all your help it’s been a huge help to me and others I’m sure.
Mine will definitely be put on for hunting I tested it hanging in tree works great and light weight and plenty strong enough.

I donno man, last year you were saying the same about the Swat X1. I think maybe you have the dreaded new bow syndrome so common here :)

I’ve been infected by its venom.

Congrats Tom on your Venom X and great shooting. This bow looks legit. I like the cables setup, similar to the TS 370.
Maybe thinking of giving up one of the TS 370 for the Venom X or a Killer instinct.
Will be watching your progress.
