Venom X on the way

Ordered Venom X, Vektra and should be here tomorrow night. I've been informed to check speed first before adjusting ATA and to be very careful that the cable slide stays in place if I have to add twist. Looking to renewing my Ten Point experience.

The Venom X will be my fourth Ten Point and has always been on my radar since its release. Winner, winner chicken dinner. The last time I took a Ten Point west I scored on a monster Pronghorn. Seems like good karma to me. Heading that way with HuntersThompson Sept 6th.

I'll be using my Ravin Jackplate and Sig Saur Rome 5 red dot to complete my hunting setup. Also, have 10.4 ASAPs ready for this Xbow. Still have SIK SK2 mechanicals. They are field point accurate! Also, SEVR 150's and several Swat Xmag options too.

Shout out to Northwoods. They are great to work with and would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a Xbow. Great folks out of northern Michigan.

Let's go!

Its impossible to articulate how much I love mine. It's so smooth. The accuracy has me beaming with confidence.

So accurate in fact, I never had another crossbow that places them like this one. My TX 440 is holding about 1.5 in to 2 in groups at 40. This is nearly same hole accurate. I talked it over with my dealer whose a mechanical engineer. He thinks a huge part of it is those scope struts combined with the classic rail design.

Got home from a weekend of boating and fishing. Even fished this morning before heading back to the home20. Changed out Ravin Jackplate speed tapes, 385fps. Took a couple of shots at 42 yards. Also, nice surprise came in. Following tree@rat's thought leadership my foldable pistol grip came in. Clutch. Perfect to use in a tree stand or ladder stand.. Also, went old school from my past Ten Point Turbo S400 days and added a heavy duty twisty to secure my Accudraw CCD handle. It never failed me back then.

Mid season check in. Venom X has not disappointed one bit. My all time favorite Ten Point. 200 plus shots on cables and strings and they look great. CCD is a great value add. Every time I de-cock I just appreciate this Xbow more and more. My Venom X shoots a solid 385fps with a built in CCD and I'm at 8.2lbs sans the quiver. Note: my ASAP arrows shoot very well out of this Xbow too. Can't think of any ownership negatives. Also, customer service is a breath of fresh air. Kudos to Randy for his on-line presence. Nice touch from Ten Point. I can without question recommend this Xbow. On my radar since digital scope devices are illegal in Bama (night vision) is Ravin's Sniper Scope with their speed tape turret for this Xbow. Kudos to Navyboy7.

Rut is still a month away for us central Bama hunters. Also have a Eastern Texas, January Pig Hunt on the calendar with this Xbow in tow.

Shoot on!

Still loving mine as well. I was going to buy something much cheaper as a back up but screw that, I’m buying another Venom X. I have Cabela’s points, and will surely see some Cabela’s cards for Christmas, plus there is a program at work we can earn 300.00 gift card for participating in. I was going to get an XP400 or Wicked Ridge M370, but nah, another Venom X it is

I have one and have been doing a lot of research on something to buy for a back up and just another now to play with. I have considered a couple other brands and maybe 6-8 different bows. I have decided to buy another Venom X. I love the accu slide and dry fire prevention, and the accuracy out of mine with the arrows from George at Straight Shooter is great. I just don’t see the reason to spend less money and not get the accu slide and DFP, and I don’t feel like I gain enough to justify spending more. I think it’s the best value out there.

That really depends on what you are comparing it to. The ProView 400 comes with it and if you are shooting factory weight arrows it will work well. Similar quality build-fit-finish-glass to comparable xbow scopes in the market. Low light gathering is only OK but it's very capable of helping you make accurate shots during legal hours.
