Waxing your Barnett Strings

I wax the cables but use scorpion venom on the strings and rail. Also use scorpion string cleaner at the end of the season or after a few hundred shots.
I attended a seminar a long time ago where we all had our bows with us. The bow care seminar hoist asked who shot over a hundred shots a day and then asked who does their own work. He picked out one gentleman and asked him to bring his bow up to be pressed. After the bow was pressed, we all came up to witness the bow string, which he had pulled apart, so that we could see the interior. A few strands were extremely frayed and one was actually broken, sawed in half by the abrasive stuff that had gotten into the string (from numerous waxings ) without cleaning.

From that day forward, I started cleaning my strings often. When the scorpion venom cleaning agent came out, I cleaned my string and then recleaned it with the venom and a white cloth. The amount of filth that the venom pulled out of the string was shocking. I have never used anything else since.

Just putting this experience out there for consideration.
