Shot my siege several times today. Pretty much dead on bullseye. Grandkids were over and my granddaughter likes attention at 6 years old. Decided I better wait and let her play a while. Eventually she went in the house. I grabbed the crossbow, shot a few and was real happy with it. Cocked the bow then my phone starts blowing up. It’s my oldest son telling me “we won!!!”. Our birds had a 150 mile race this morning and between 13 lofts and 400 birds we took the top 3 spots. So I’m excited as all get out. Grab the bow, aim, click. No!!!!! Well now it’s 1 1/2” to the right. The trigger box releases still but slightly catches the dogs, or hooks. I looked it over real good. Visually it looks like normal. Other than the slight catch & shooting right it’s working normally. String looks ok like it did before. Can not believe I did that.

If i understand the bow is now shooting 1 1/2" right after the ADF caught the string. Why? what moved? POI should not have changed.

I just had a nock failure on a Mission 400 that cut the string and it dry fired. I ordered a new string put it on and POI didn't change at 50 yards. I have forgot to load a arrow using Excaliburs i'm ashamed to say how many times and never experienced a change in POI.

Id want to get it checked might just be the string was stretched and its out of tune. But i didn't understand the string is catching the trigger claws when you shoot?

Are you talking about the catch that holds the string? Or the pins that the dogs/hooks grab? I really looked it over good this morning. Whatever it is you can’t see it so it must be a minimal bend? I’m sure it doesn’t take much to throw things out of proportion. Nothing feels “tight” as far as any of the moving parts in the trigger box. I’ll have it checked out. I shot it a little bit ago and it’s about an inch low and inch right from where it was. I am definitely happy that’s all that happened if the lever got slightly bent. Could have been much worse.

Congrats on the birds - sorry to hear about the bow. TenPoint service center would be the next step to see if something got bent or not…

I don’t think the string is catching the trigger claws when I shoot. I shot this morning and it’s was much closer than after it happened. It could have been I was so upset with myself. As far as latching the trigger box onto the string it’s ok. Shooting feels/sounds no different than before. The only thing I’ve noticed is releasing the trigger box to slide it down the rail those dogs/hooks catch the pins slightly. I’ll attach a picture showing releasing the trigger box. You can see how close those hooks are to the pins.

no I don’t think it’s catching when I shoot. To release the trigger box you push the hooks down so the trigger box can slide down to latch the string. Those hooks are slightly catching the pins. I’ll attach a picture showing.

That means it has bent the pins that the hooks catch on. That usually means a dry fry occurred and it caught.. that what’s it’s supposed to do. It’s heaps better than blowing up the bow. Simple fix. Ask me how I know . Been there and done that. There are better designs now from Tenpoint and others.
