Though, truthfully, I don't mind the Mission Sub one series triggers or those of the newer Tenpoint bows.

 

Pretty sure I’ve had 6 different crossbows.

Without a doubt my Scorpyd Deathstalker has the best trigger, but my R10 is right behind it.

A great trigger improves accuracy - a poor one not so much.

Blake you have been asking questions about different crossbows for almost a year now. Are you any closer to actually buying one?

 

Getting close, but still not sure. Thank you for asking. Got it down to 2 now. Just waiting for some reviews, hope soon though. Want to turkey hunt this year, if I ever make up my mind.

 

Scorpyd is nice, my KI X-1 is a notch better. Pull is lighter, and after a couple hundred arrows, break is cleaner. The KI is shorter to the break. Both are very good.

 

Triggers are very subjective. Having said that, I agree with everything you said Brian. It is even better than the Triggertech, albeit just barely better. It is the best trigger that I’ve ever felt in a production bow and the Swat XP comes close.

 

Scorpyd out of the box but, when you put a triggertech in an Excalibur that's as good as it gets.

 

I think if I had not shot crossbows to date and was looking for my first I would probably go to Walmart and buy one of the Barnettes on sale under $300 and see how I liked shooting a crossbow before spending a lot of $$$ on one. If you like them then you will have a cheap backup bow when you buy another later on. That said I am very glad I bought an Excalibur starting out. Hard bows to beat for price and warranty.

I love the trigger on my X-1.

 

My Scorpyd trigger is good but I honestly put my Barnett with the trigger tech a touch better. It just seems a little bit crisper.

Thank you for speaking truth to power. Trigger Tech is legit, legit, legit and you can get them on Barnett's as low as $200. Crazy to think a trigger is that good on a price point Xbow. It's every bit as good as my Mission Sub-1 XR.

 

@blakeman What are your most important decision criteria? Durability, speed, usable optics or simplicity?

@blakeman In terms of durability, depending on the arrow weight used, the Sub 1 should be in front, in the speed the Ravin, in the optics the Sub 1 and the Ravin and in the simplicity the Excal. My choice would be the Sub 1 but I don't want to hunt with it either.

 

I haven't tried every trigger out there.
I'm not a perfectionist.
Durability is important.
Warranty is more important.
I have no complaints about the Excalibur Assassin 400TD.

 

Buy all three.

When I had my Mission Dagger, it was involved in the TriggerTech recall.

I remember the trigger was really nice but since I let it go a few years ago, it’s difficult to compare to what I have now since I haven’t shot it in a while.

What I didn’t like about the replacement TT was the safety was rather clunky. When I pushed it from safe to fire it sounded like a kettle drum.

 

Gearhead using same trigger. Safe to fire is quiet when bow is cocked. But I know that sound.

 

I'm a huge Trigger Tech fan and like my Mission Sub-1 XR but have shot Killer Instinct's Swat X-1 and out of the box that is the best trigger I have ever shot. Is it light years better, no but it's the best I've tested when I visited Farm Deer's shooting range. It's the closet thing to a rifle trigger on a Xbow I've shot. However, I do not consider the Killer Instinct the best Xbow because of their limb legacy. Good luck!

 

Of the crossbows I’ve had Scorpyd and Ravin a close second. I have no reason to not believe the X1 & TriggerTech are the best. TP was my worst which is why I’m very hesitant to buy another. Lots of take up with a 3.5 lb trigger not the best for super high end crossbows.

 

I think the Ten Point tech Xbows have good triggers. I don’t think you’d be disappointed. I had no negatives with my Viper S400 trigger. Hope that helps.

 

Scorpyd Tremor has the best trigger I’ve used in a bow; not to mention many a rifle.
