What are you guys using on your strings. I have trident but am wondering if this is a good choice or go with Scorpion string lube instead.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I’m not sure if it matters all that much. Trident was THE THING for a few months here. Probably still not a bad idea, especially for the narrow cable eaters. Scorpion Venom has been well thought of for a while -before and after the Trident crush. Many recommended Black Lightning and I thought it worked great. Some “roll their own” lubes. I remember as a kid in the early ‘60s watching my dad apply beeswax to his recurve strings. Apparently it has come back into vogue.

Scorpion venom polymeric wax has worked great for me on everything Excals Flemish strings included. Not going to worry about spending a couple extra dollars on a tin every couple years. I’ve found that trident with Tenpoint strings doesn’t keep them moist enough and they start to fuzz much quicker then Polymeric wax does.

To really get wax worked deep into my strings I still like the Bohning string wax and a blow dryer. For a top coat and during the season I apply trident to keep the elements out of my strings.

Just carried over Scorpion Venom / Trident regiment for strings and Rail Snot for the deck…

Really don’t think there is a perfect way to lube/wax your strings. As far as I’ve seen it is just the process of keeping the string well lubricated/moistened to help with premature wear.
