I have Excalibur XX75 Crossbow Hunter 2219 arrows for my Excalibur Phoenix. It's an older model and I just got a Boo string from Canada for it. The Phoenix only shoots 305 FPS and it has recurve limbs. Very wide too! I have a few dozen 2117 shafts and will cut them down to 20 inches and use PDP aluminum flat nocks and probably 150 grain Boltcutters or 100 grain Grim Reapers. Three inch vanes also.
Any comments? Thanks. God Bless. Bob

Always have to experiment. The 2219 with a 100 grain BH should weigh 429 and a 2117 with a 100 grain BH should weigh 393.6, both over the minimum of 350 grains you can safely shoot an Excalibur Phoenix. I would NOT try this on a newer, faster crossbow. I ordered some PDP aluminum flat nocks for the 2117 arrows from Lancaster, but I think you could file the edges smooth on a regular insert and use it. If you use smoothed out inserts, just glue some field points nose first into some nocks and then screw them into the inserts and then place them into a regular receiver on a Bitzenburger. It will work better than any Bitzenburger Crossbow Receiver I've tried.

I am a longtime fan of XX75's. I currently use XX75, 2219's, (Made by 3 Rivers Archery- Traditional Autumn Orange shafts), 15.75" long, 150 grain field points. 3" feather fletch; I use the standard 26 grain aluminum inserts on both ends, (one as a front insert and one as a rear flat nock). Total weight is 427grains.
I shoot them out of a modified Matrix limbed Excalibur Assassin. speeds are just under 300fps. Very good accuracy out to 60 yards (With field points).

I have pretty much shot xx75, 2219 out of my Excalibur's for the last 15 years.
You are best served with 150 grain heads to get a good F.O.C .
I am a big fan of the Slick trick X bow 4 blade head in 150 gr , It just plane works awesome and shoots great on the dozens of deer I have used them on.
My bows are rated 340 / 350 fps and the 2219 shafts are durable , heavy , slow ,but hard hitting.
I think you will do just fine with the 2117 shafts at the speed , poundage your bow is producing but make a coupled up and see , I believe Excal used to sell 2117 in their early Right stuff box kits long ago.
You can use a front insert in the rear for a flat nock in a pinch if you can not locate a full flat nock .
keep us posted on your findings,

More experiments! I dug out my Vortex and decided to use it as my arthritis is really bothering me and it's hard to draw the Hoyt Torrex. I contacted Dan Miller at Horizontal Archery in Pa. 740-483-2312 and ordered some new items for the Vortex. String, string silencers, stringer and a couple other items from various sources-Excalibur sling, Warne mounts ( Ex. rings and scope not the greatest, rail Snot. I had a spare Ex. padded case and a Leupold VX-1, 2-7 shot gun scope, and some Nitro vanes and I should be good to go soon. I'm using 2219 20 inch shafts and will probably use 100 gr or 150 gr. BH's. Gotta keep playing.
I will try making a few 20 inch 2117 arrows with some weight BH, not sure which one yet. Miwoodswalker, I found some PDP aluminum nocks, so I'm going to try them. I found 2219 Crossbow Hunter shafts on fleabay awhile ago, and stocked up. It seems Easton really is moving towards stopping the making of some aluminum shafts, no matter what anyone says. Get while the getting is good! Shafts are small to store and they don't eat, and they are there when you need them! God Bless.

Sounds like you will be set !
I have not bought nocks in a while but I think I got flat plastic nocks from Wyvern Creations , a good source for many things .
You can not go wrong with Danny Miller he is the Excal man for sure.
Arrow tip I use an arrow squaring tool on my cut shafts and then on my inserts after installation it helps I believe keep things true especially as my arrow saw is not top notch .
Keep us posted on your progress.

I love the 2219's at 18.5" out of my Matrix 350 with 60gn inserts for a little more foc. They weigh in around 445gns with Firenock non lighted flat nocks or Gold tip flat nocks shimmed.

Using a similar formula for my 340 Axe. 15.75” 2219 (full length cut exactly in half), the 60 grain inserts (still have a few left), Firenock F, unlit. Fusion vanes.
