Crossbow Nation banner

I don’t own a computer at all. I use my phone and I don’t get any ads here but I do get them on some other websites??

Ads??? What ads? :)

I could spend an hour on crossbownation.com, & I wouldn't be able to recite a single ad put before me.

There is a lot of free information on the internet, & I'm pretty sure ads keep things free. Having said that, crossbownation.com should provide you the option of participating ad free for a monthly fee.

This would be no different than Netflix. You can purchase Netflix for less money/month with ads or pay the extra per month to keep it ad free. The choice is yours.

The Crossbow Nation deal is even better! I haven't paid a dime to be here!

Bottom line - Very little in life is free. If you choose to leave over the ads on crossbownation.com, that's on you.

I access here with my tablet & phone, both running add blockers. Ads can be very intrusive taking up enough space making some pages completely unreadable. If the company that now owns most of these forums (Fora) forces disabling of ad blockers, I'll be done here as well.
The ads are bad enough, I wouldn't buy anything from a pop up anyway.

The only adds I get are for items I've researched for, like Minn Kota trolling motors, r/c airplanes, Chevroler trucks, and Optic Land. If you're getting adds for porn or how big Chelsea is getting, you must have clicked on them before.

This is not CBN, but your browser.
Quasi-commercial internet browers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge and the companies behind them hate adblockers.
Thus they came up with a new "standard", massively supported by the companies whose ads they push (and which often belong to the same conglomerate) - and it's called "Manifest V3", see e.g. here.

Long story short - with a browser that wants to force ads down your throat, you won't get out out if.
Change to a different browser that does not implement MV3, and which will continue to support adblockers.
These are e.g. Mozilla Firefox, Brave Browser, or Opera.
I mostly use Brave (which comes with same integrate adblockers) and additional adblockers installed (uBlock Origin), CBN still works fine, and I see no ads.

I noticed this same thing this morning. I cleared my cache and cookies on my browser for the past 24 hours, and then noticed that Chrome had not finished an update. Did the update and all is well again. So, I'm not sure if it was the cache or cookies, but I suspect it was really just Chrome needing to update.

BTW, I use both MalwareBytes Browser Guard and uBlock Origin Lite for an ad-free envioroment.

I am on a Chromebook laptop and use Google and use Adblock Plus and have not seen an ad on here since downloading the adblock plus years ago.

Excellent information that makes total sense!

I apologize for any blame placed on crossbow nation. I plead ignorance & stupidity!

I just ignore the ads, but they also aren't that offensive to me. I see mostly Cabela's, Sportsman Warehouse, and other ads related to things I have shopped for recently. We are surely being watched, but I really don't care. I don't have much to hide.

Looks like CBN is blocking my access by telling me to turn off AdBlocker, which I will not do. At first I thought it was a scam but it's doing it on all my computers. Apparently it hasn't hit my phone yet so I can write this message.

So it's been a good run and I'll miss the morning ritual of messing around with you characters. I'll check in once in a while to see if the problem goes away.

Be well all!
You can’t just take your ball and go home. Fight the man! Don’t give up. Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

I dont usually see ads between posts. I just see 'em on the right side of the screen and to the right side of the posts. Doesnt bother me any.

Exactly.
As soon as someone praises the virtues of Excalibur and their unwieldy boat anchor aesthetics.... he won't be able to help himself! 🙃
That’s actually why he’s leaving he purchased a Excalibur a few days ago. Didn’t want the word getting out.
