Barnett got a bad rep about 15 years ago because they started slacking on quality and quality control. The company was bought and new ownership made changes. Trigger tech was brought in and new limb builders. Since 2018 they have been building rock solid xbows that meet or exceed speed ratings with a 400 gn and a 3lb zero slop trigger that the expensive xbows are jealous of. My 2018 TS 370 went nearly 5000 shots before it finally got a small splinter. Shaved it off and finished season, then called customer service. Lady looked up my serial numbers and said I still had 2 months left on my 5 year warranty. Sent them front end and 10 days later new front end back to me. Pleased with the durability and customer service. Barnett's also come in lighter than other brands ,usually weighing from 6-7 lbs depending model.

I think they hang in there with the bigger names in terms of accuracy, dependability, and shoot ability. For the money Barnett can not be beat in my opinion. Dad had a Quad 400 that would not shoot worth a shat, but my less than $200 Jackel was a tack driver

Those are some good deals…are Tenpoint crossbows a good option?

Tenpoint is more expensive for sure. I own one and have had zero problems with it so far. They do have some good deals going on now. Take good care of your crossbow no matter what it is, recommended maintenance procedures, lubing, checking bolts, screws , limbs on a regular basis you should be fine. The thing with upper end crossbows like tenpoint is there are more pieces, parts and such to keep an eye on. But regular maintenance should keep you happy. I don’t ever plan on getting rid of my Siege, that thing is a tack driver and very accurate. But like I mentioned earlier if I buy another crossbow I’d like to experience an Excalibur. Tenpoint & Excalibur, both top notch companies.

If you decide to not go with an Excalibur the Cenerpoint Sniper 370 is bullet proof. Combine it with a 10 Pt Rangermaster Pro scope and you are set for $400. Save up for a trigger job by Rich and you'll feel like youre shooting a $1000+ crossbow. Only thing Ive had to do extra to mine was change the string. Cables and limbs are still like brand new.
