So I am a new TP owner and finally ordered a scope and will be getting my bow all set up soon (cant wait!). I have everything but a quiver and bolts.

I shot the carbon express and the victory bolts with my Parker with ok results. I am planning on purchasing the Carbon Express Maxima(either the regular or the new blue ones) or the new TP lite just for a little extra speed as I have the 2012 Stealth XLT..

That being said what do you guys shoot and have good luck with? Has anyone tried either the Maximas or the new TP lite bolts? Are they to lite you think? Just curius what has worked for yall?

Thanks

Kind of what I was thinking. I may see if I can buy 3 of each and try. I just dont have the money to experiment abunch if you know what I mean.

The lighter faster, the heavier the slower but tighter groups. I am still interested in the the CE Maximas with so called built in weight fwd. I guess I will just have to try them all!

Good point Barb, I never thought about the fact the smaller vanes are deepr and may bottom out in the flight rail. I just like the Carbon Express but I may order 3 of the pro lites from you guys and try them. If they work well for me I will then order more. I just wish there were a place where you could go and shoot a couple then buy, wish ful thinking i know. Kind of like rifle/ML ammo, you hate to buy 20 just to find out your gun doesnt like em!

Thanks again to all, my cbow should be back tomorrow and i will get her dialed in directly!

That is the problem, I bought the bow without bolts. Now I am on the hunt, like I said I wish I could try a couple and find the one that shoots the best before buying 6.

Thanks

Yeah, now I wish they would have shipped me some bolts to try. Unfortunately I bought the bow bare. I did however get it all set up today. The acudraw is on and the Rangemaster pro scope is on a tightened. I wish I would have had a torque driver and a guide telling me what to tighten the rings down to. I just used the old standard, goodintight.

I will have to see if I can locate someone with a couple of different kinds and go from there. I was looking at the weights on line and the CE maxima are a tad heavier than the Pro lites which from hearing from others the TPs shine with a heavier bolt set up. Its all up to trial and error now. If I can get sub 2" with any of the above mentioned arrows, I will stick withem.

Thanks again

How durable are the 2219? I assume they are more durable than the older aluminum arrows I keep thinking of when I shot them out of the verticle bows.

I just have nver even thought about going back to aluminium after using carbon but you guys make a dern good case for them.

I know that they are cheaper in price than the carbons. I just worry about bending them every time I pull them from the target? Is that wrongful thinking?

Guys I really appreciate the good advise. Since I have posted this I have ordered 4 of the Pro elites and 4 of the Pro Lites. I have sighted in and shot the Elites, have not got the chance to shoot the lites to compare though. I will say the lites will have to shoot pretty dern good to beat the elites. I dont know if I will be able to tell the difference in speed either? I also have a 6pk of CE Maxima KE on order as well so between the three choices I should have a winner. In my mind the Elites will be it unless one of the other two shoot better.

I also purchased a bag target, I believe the name on it is Hurricane? Its bright green and has several different aiming points. My two year old can pull the arrows out of that thing, its awesome. My older block/black hole target has become awful. The arrows are difficult at best to remove and it leaves black smudges all over my arrows. I will shoot my broadheads into it only. I hate I spent that much money on the block just to have it turn bad on me after only 2 yrs. I even store it inside when I am not actively shooting. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks again to all. I will soon have my report on how the lites and the Maxima KEs shoot!

OK, tonight i got the chance to shoot both the Elites and the LItes. To my suprise the lites shot a tighter group at 25 yds over the Elites. The Elites shoot on average a 2" group and the lites were actually 1" or less. I shot them both at 30 and either opened up much but the lites did shoot a little higher but at the shorter distances they both shot identicle?

Also with both I am dead on at 25 yds with my 20 yd dot. If I shoot the 30 yd dot at 30 yds I am about 6" high with both and the lites being the higher arrows. That is with the scope set on 320. If I up the speed on the dial to say 330 will that change my POI much? Im having a hard time thinking this thru tonight. I am tired I guess?

I will not buy more of either till I get the chance to stretch out the shots to 40=50 yds. I dont know how much difference it will make but so far the Lites are the winner and they are faster to boot. Never thought that would be the case, pleasant suprise though.

Good stuff. I have both the Elites and the Lites now so I have to figure out if I will practice with both and hunt with Lites. Seriously they shoot side by each at 20 and even similar out to 30 (as far as I got). No to figure out what setting I should leave my Rangemaster pro scope at? Right now its on 320 and I am thinking that is a little low as I shooting 6" high at 30 with my 30 yd dot?

My plan is to find some good lighted nocks for the arrows and then on to the broadhead search.Any advise on either would be appreciated. Im curius how the lites do with different broadheads. I know I seen a good video Allchokedup did, good info and he has my same set up and i believe he shoots the elites.

Good luck to all and thanks for the advice!

Turned up the Rangemaster scope ot 335 the other day and shot. My 20 yd stayed about the same and it brought my 30yd group down about 3" but still at 30yds using my 30 dot it was 3-4" high?. I guess I need to raise up th speed to closer to 340 and I am going to go with it. Even if I am not exact at 20-30 and so on, I will just know where its going to bullz on each dot and remember that when hunting.

For broad heads I just bought some Schwakers. I still have a couple of Rage and the Slik tricks encase the Schacks dont work. Plano hard case bought, Chamillion quiver from Bohning and Carbon Lite arrows, minus a quiver bracket . I reckon I am finally set up!!!!! Oct cant come soon enough!
