Ok so naturally it wasn't a problem gettin em off, spent a few hours polishing cams. Finally got to putting cables and string back on and it's just not happening. I followed Jack Pine's diagram but I'm obviously missing something. First time I thought I had cables on properly, I couldn't get the string out because it was way short, assuming because the cams were not in proper position, just too much for the string to wrap around. But the cables are not on properly because I loosened tension on the press and they never got tight.
I did exactly what was said in the diagram, attach smaller loops to screw lugs, wind outward about 1.5 turns until the cable is pretty much filling the track. Connect loops to both cams on opposite sides.
