Typical Bowtech ... cleverness. I like it. Other than the typical dreadful Excalibur camo color. 😂 (y)

First off ... all Excaliburs are ugly. Other than a couple Wildcatter had redipped in a nice camo pattern. :p 😂
#2. In reality any crossbow with wheels is a Frankenbow. Recurves are the original pure crossbows.
#3. The "Customer Base" was clearly in mind with the ghastly colored camo. It's the most visible of the links to their past. And since 67% of our incoming sense are visual, it's a big'un.
#4. The "Twin Bow" was a great idea that in typical fashion DNRs jumped on banning it. That and the performance was too pedestrian.
#5. I give Excalibur/Bowtech credit for putting out a legitimate 400fps crossbow that "likely" won't be snapping limbs like their other attempts to stay relevant in a world selling speed. (y)

It is kind of a Frankenstein bow but I cant wait to see how this new chapter unfolds.
I hope they tested the heck out of this to get the bugs worked out and have a reliable bow.
The last thing Excalibur needs is a bunch of limb failures or other issues 350 lb draw weight is not insignificant.
I hope it comes with the lifetime warranty.

Trying to stay relevant in the speed game. If it can't be let down and worked on without a press and have other big advantages, I don't see this as a bow that is going to inspire people to move away from other compound crossbow brands like Tenpoint, Mission and Ravin at that price point.

I love my recurve Excals for the ability to easily maintain from home or field and I do not think that will not be the case with this bow but as long as they keep offering the recurves I have no issue with them trying to capture the other end of the market .
Pease just do not abandon the customers base that has been so loyal over the years with the traditional recurve bows.
I do give them credit for out of the box thinking if the bow proves reliable over the long term and the price is not sky high they may do very well.
I will never be buying $3000 crossbows no matter who makes them

Who says you can't?

Well - not the same ‘ol Excalibur. Will be interesting to see how it all unfolds - personally don’t have any plans on being a beta tester though…

Accuracy, durability, actual speeds, warranty, ease of maintenance… All questions that will be answered along the way and interesting none the less. I’ll bet the hunting shows that have been slipping in the RevX and Twinstrike will have this front and center in the future…

Also - how wide is it uncocked/after the shot?

This bow has been through its paces for a while now. Possibly the best kept secret in years.

This is the most accurate Excalibur released to date. Completely field serviceable.

Unlocked at its widest point it's 18 5/8".

If it's shooting 440fps with a 400gr total arrow weight, should hit ballpark 415fps with a 50gr increase to 450gr total arrow weight, figuring a 5fps loss per every 10gr increase. Ain't a thing wrong with that kinda speed!

My concerns. As soon as the Matrix series was introduced. I had a 380, 2 405s and a BD400. 3 of these broke limbs (years later the improved limbs and revised limb pockets helped). Then the Micros came 330 and 355. A large # of limb breakages. Then the HO limbs came, breakages seemed to decrease. I got a RevX, which of course, has HO limbs. Shooting 450g arrows, I had a catastrophic limb break after appx 50 shots.

My BD 400 with the newer limb pocket designed riser and improved limbs and Flemish strings, is, in my estimation, extremely reliable. I had expected my RevX to be, but every new Excalibur bow model I’ve had (Matrix -2, BD400 1, & RevX -1) has had broken limbs. SWATs and 2 VitalXs - none and lots more shots than the Excals.

So, I have concerns but hope it’s bulletproof, or as close as possible.

PS. If I had no crossbow but could choose any crossbows regardless of cost, I’d own 2 X1s (different optics) , a BD400 (mine - new riser, 1.5# TT, improved limbs, and my Boo Flemish string) ; and, if I added another, a Micro 380. So, there is no anti Excal bias on my part.

Has a groove in the limb like the Twinstrike for string changer. Not sure how it will work but possibly able to change them out easily???

Lots of testing went into this bow. Folks hunted with it this fall. Not me, but others. It is 100% different and hence the name Hybrid. It does have the RevX stock so you get that great crank. The bow will come with 100gr and 150gr field points. You can pick your set up from there. It is incredibly accurate with stock arrows. The 150’s up front really dial it in. All field work done with the stringer.
