I don't post much but feel that I needed to let everyone know my thoughts. I have a micro 380, 340 and recently purchased the Wolverine 360. With the new high output limbs. The continued tweaks to the riser and the new ceasefire trigger I feel Excalibur has created a fantastic bow at an affordable price. I shoot 445 GR Zombies from southshore and all three bows are tac drivers. I love the way Excalibur is always trying to improve on the design of an already good product. I don't need more speed for the style of hunting I do. I like simple and reliable with enough speed to hunt deer in the big woods. Size weight reliability accuracy easy to maintain. What more could I ask for. The new limbs cannot be overstated they are fantastic. I only hope for an improvement for the decoking hook. It works and it's not too bad but I would like to see something different. Awesome bows!! Thank you, Excalibur!!

This is great to hear, considering the issues some of the early Micros had with risers and limbs.

Such a tight and compact recurve design. Continues to amaze me how much those stocky little limbs can take so much bending, prolonged times left cocked, and firing shock... and still come back for more.

Very well engineered little crossbow. I want one!

I've always loved Excalibur crossbows also but they could do a few little things to make them even better like rubberizing their foot stirrup's and arrow retainers on all their models for just a couple dollars more. I've owned several different models but if I had to say the Micro 335 was my favorite which is basically the same crossbow as the Micro 340.

Yet ... another Developmental League crossbow? You know, the crossbows that precede buying the major league stuff? :p 😂

When I first got into crossbows four years ago, I looked long and hard at the Excalibur brand, and shot several models at the local pro shop. Did the same for Mathews crossbows. I owned two Mathews models for the first two years, but eventually shifted over to TenPoint. I found the narrow width and the ease of cocking and decocking from any position more suited to my age and hunting style. Most things in life are a series of compromises. As I got more knowledgeable about crossbow care and maintenance, I made the choice to go with what I shoot now. I know Excalibur is easier for the average guy to maintain, but they don't have many of the features I need and want. That being said, several of my younger friends shoot Excalibur and they are very pleased and have experienced great success on deer. You just have to find what works best for you, and be open to all the options that are out there. A bull's eye is still a bull's eye, a dead deer is a dead deer. How you achieve those two goals is still up to what the individual thinks is best for them.

Whistles and bells! Flashy things and twinkly lights! Change for the sake of change! Sells more stuff that eventually ends up stacked on the shelf or hanging on a hook with the previous "gotta have it cuz they say it's better" stuff!

Remember Matthews infamous "SoloCam"? Gotta have it! Do they even make a SoloCam anymore? Why not if it was so revolutionary?

I am even old enough to remember when R made a 500 fps crossbow!

If simple works, I like simple! My 340 is just plain fun to shoot and pretty near always hits the same spot!

Given the thread title, I may be stating the obvious.

If you were someone who was buying their very first Excalibur crossbow, I assume you would buy the Wolverine over the Mag 340 & Micro 380. Correct?

Outside of money (Mag 340 being cheaper) are there any circumstances were you would pick the Mag 340 or Micro 380 over the new Wolverine model?

Asking for a friend. :)
