The same thing, am really confused between both of them, although the hawke has the dots for windge at 10 and 20 mph, but Idk

 

The Vortex ... has more magnification and the Hawke has a much better reticle. The Vortex Crossfire is getting raves for the glass and has an unequaled reputation for customer service. Lotta guys like the Hawke.

Me, I'd buy the Vortex for the glass and added magnification. I don't use "speed dials" and use holdover for shooting; so the retarded 40 yard zero main crosshair and 20 yard subtension 2 lines ABOVE the main crosshair wouldn't matter to me. I suspect most shooters would be more comfortable with the Hawke and it's normal reticle.

 

Yea I would love to see the Vortex with a Hawke Style reticle.

 

I have a hawk xb30 pro, but I don't have a vortex crossfire ll scope. From what I'm reading is that the vortex doesn't have the eye relief that the hawk xb30 pro has. I also have a hawk xb30 compact. On the both boxes for the scopes it says eye relief is 3", I believe that is right for the xb30 pro, but the compact I have to get closer to the scope. I think the vortex eye relief is from what I'm reading is 2.7". Hope this helps.

 

I'm really thinking now to go with the Hawke because of Reticle - I Iike 20 starting in the middle. And I am also debating about going with a Burris or Leupold tactical lower power scope with ranging. reticle. I just am not impressed with the glass on these chinese scopes. I have Leupold on all my rifles and some Vortex and when I look through these crossbow scopes I have .22 scopes that are better

 

I went to the Vortex Crossfire II because of the clear glass and no problem seeing the target at low light with illumination, no fog appearance! I like the reticle!

Out field testing the Barnett TS380 last night, Halo scope came off and Vortex on! This time of year they tend to come in last light, can't beat the Vortex for low light!

 

What he said. Low light, price point, and clear FOV. You can't go wrong with either. You won't be disappointed. These two are top of the class crossbow speed scopes. Vortex weight a bit over 13oz. That is nice value too keep Xbow weight down.

Buy, shoot and join the fun.

 

Another vote for the vortex here. Great glass and the reticle is spot on out to 100 yards!

 

Well I just settled it, I just ordered them both and going to test them head to head. I will put a review on here when I'm done.

 

Wise choice, only you can decide which one you'll like the best....

I made another decision,
I ordered the Ravin scope

 

Yea the Ravin is ok and Wyverns has a good deal on them but the clarity is not there as I had one. I actually like the reticle set up for hunting. But it is an upgrade over some.

 

I can recommend the Hawke XB30 Compact rather than the Pro because the reticle detail has crosshairs instead of mixed crosshairs and posts.

I love my setup because it's accurate.

 

I have seen several XB1 sold by buddies on this site. Just saying!

The XB1 is not that great and it's not comparable to the vortex, but the XB30 is a monster but much expensive

 

That I know so well because I have one that does everything I hoped for. It made my setup complete.

 

Here is the XB30 Compact reticle. It might look busy but every bit of it is useful. Note the 20 yard starts above center but that isn't an issue. They needed the space to get all those crosshairs on the screen. Note the 5 yard markers are in between each ten.
You can see them but there is actually I very small circle in there at each crosshair. I could see them when shooting long ranges. It's like a fine point for focusing.
That bottom post is actually 115 yards on my speed setting of 400fps.

 

I could live with the reticle above, but when I emailed Hawke, they did state; "You will see a slight improvement in glass and coating quality in the Pro" - and since I liked the the reticle of the XB30 Pro the best (20 yd crosshairs), that's what I went with.

 

I’ve owned both - sold the Hawke, returned the Crossfire II.

A side by side comparison in low light I felt the Crossfire II was much better with a cleaner look. The Hawke’s glass gets crappy around the outer edges as is the norm with all the Hawkes I’ve had which grinds me to no end.

I didn’t like either reticle but if I was forced to use one it would be the Crossfire II - ymmv.

Even though this is older thread I saw your question.
The XB1 is for slower speed crossbows when it's zeroed the power/speed ring while be set at a lower magnification making less desirable for longer shoots pass 40 yards.
Also the thin line reticle scheme of the XB30 is better in my experience for target shooting versus symbols.

Thanks for sharing. Nice detailed photo of the reticle Crossfire scope.

One more point on a feature I prefer.

If one looks at the fine bead formed by the intersection of the reticles of the XB30 Compact it creates a very fine aiming point for down range shots.
