Good thing I just bought a new hunting knife or I'd be all over this😂

Seriously though, what the heck am I missing to justify the value of this "knife"?

That's a mighty fine pig sticker listed there, but I'm afraid the price is a little too steep for this old country boy!
Maybe one day I'll be like Iron Duke and can afford such nice toys!
But until such a time, I'll just have to hang on to this one and make do...

I once read ... that you'll see an insane price on something "just to hold the vendor's place" on that platform. Evidently if you have nothing to sell you suffer a lesser position in the seller pecking order or something. Don't know the details or if it's true, but it seemed to make sense.

On second thought ... maybe it's worth it ?
Because a poor, innocent inmate grinded a spoon (or something like that) over months of hard and secretive labour into this device, using the prison walls as grind stone and his only chair to make the handle. Until he was suddenly released - or broke out.
I am very much reminded of Dumas' "The Count of Monte Christo" ...

From the look ... of that thing I don't think the maker was a Count. Well perhaps a No-Count. ;) 😂

well since we doing show and tell this one came in yesterday Japanese H2 steel for saltwater. Bought it for around $100 from deadwood on sale last week or the week before. gofall2025 code for 10% off I think. I don't know if it still works.

perfect size and grip and expanded thumbhole makes it the my favorite model. I have the non salt versions in Japanese VG10. Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be sharpened aluminum blade lol

Salt ahey? ... Just triggered a thought ... I wonder where my two dive knives are from when I used to scuba dive & spear fish??? Last time I dove was about ¼ century ago. One was a fancy murderous looking knife and the other looked more like a USMC Ka-Bar in a SS & thermoplastic handle maritime version. That's the one I wore all the time. I still have some gear on the top shelf in one of my storage containers.  :unsure:

I didn't know there was sypderco waitlist action happening. how do you do that? Im on a delica4/salt2 kick right now. what I want is a salt 2 in the same color code and blade finish as your blue one in the middle. I was a little worried that the blue would be too bright for me in person but it looks awesome in pics. Definitely need more salt options I don't care if I have to sharpen it more. I hate corrosion. Id rather sharpen it hourly than fight rust and greasy corrosion coatings.
Sorry for the late response as I wa

Sorry for the late response. I had my phone off 4 while in Michigan 4 days.

Check out the Delica 4 CPM

I'm late to respond after spending 4 days in N Michigan.

Spyderco does have an excellent knife forum that I never miss an opportunity to lurk on for information, mainly educational.

Spyderco offers a waiting list for their " Mule Team" releases. The mule team knives are very popular and sell out right quick.

I use Knife Center.com for my purchases and add my name to their up and coming Spderco release
list for notifications.

The H2 steal replaced H1. Out of the two H1 is considered to have more corrosion resistance. As an example , you will likely see more corrosion in H2 over H1 if you left it in a salt immersion water overnight.
Common sense tells us we shouldn't generally do this.

Spyderco does offer the Delica 4 in COM

Sorry for the late response as I have been in Michigan on Holiday 4 days.

Spyderco has an excellent forum that I never miss an opportunity to lurk for educational purposes. I suggest taking a look in your spare time.

Spyderco does offer a waiting list for their " Mule Team" limited runs. Spaces fill up fast and the line up sell super fast.

I use Knife Center.com customer wait list for knives I'm interested in buying. Their Service dept is excellent at notification when new knifes drop.

H2 replaces H1. H1 is considered to have better corrosion resistance. If you submerged H1 and H2 together in a salt water bath overnight H1 would come out in better shape. H2 is no slouch. Obviously, common sense tell us we should expose our knives to this torture...but, some do just to report back.

The Delica 4 is offered in CPM SPY27 steel (blue scales), I have this steel in my Manix 2 LW.
It had unknowingly fallen out of my pocket one weekend on a ground sit deer hunting.

I was extremely happy to find it there the following week. The blue handle jumped out at me.

SPY27 is a Knife that does excellent in all categories. It's not 100% perfect in any one area, but very good in all areas.

Mine sat in moisture and two days of rain for a week without a hint of corrosion, but this was not a salt environment, I might add.

I'm on a waiting list with Knife Center for the Manix 2 SALT.
This version is all black MagnaCut with a diamond Carbon coating .

It will be released in a second variation satin MagnaCut and bumble bee black and yellow scales.
