Shooting a heavier arrow may help may not. the way I fixed my KI was buy something else. KI is know for limbs cracking.

 

I’m going to pick up a Barnett TS380 in the morning! So you don’t think it has anything to do with me? Like shooting to much? I’m shooting the bolts that came with the bow and I just bought 6 more!

 

I had 2 blow limbs and can tell you it had nothing to do with me. They both had under 50 shots. And were top of line KIs

I picked up my Barnett TS380 this morning. I had it together and shooting tight groups at 40 yards in about 3 hours. I actually got to hunt this evening. Much better than my KI 405 boss(The limb breakers).Built much better and mechanically sound! Lesson learned. You get what you pay for! I have much more confidence in this bow!

 

Trigger on that TS 380 is too notch

 

had 3 limbs in 3 years break, got sick of it bought a wicked ridge 400 decock....its a ripper 415 that the factory put 425 limbs on it, got a whoppn 30 shots threw it total this time and this time never shot a bolt under 450 gr. ! juuuuuunk!

 

I've bought 2 sets of limbs so far I've do e everything I know to do, the limbs are costing so much I could have bought a ten point. I don't know what is going on , I will never buy another killer instinct or Centerpoint period again. ⁹

 

The earlier versions of the killer Instinct limbs are known for slivering or breaking.
These crossbows are manufactured overseas as are the rebranded Rocky Mountain
405 and 415 series, the Bruin Ambush 370 and the no longer manufactured Carbon
Express 390 Pile Driver.
What ever manufacture was building these limbs are using poor quality material or a
poor manufacturing process.

As for Center Point, if one purchases the Sniper XT390 from Bass Pro or Cabela's
one will have a very accurate crossbow at a very reasonable price. This crossbow
is build exclusively for Bass Pro and Cabela's. Absolutely no trigger creep and 3
pounds and under trigger pull. It does not require a trigger job like other Center
Point series crossbows.

Same here . Ive bought 2 sets of limbs. First ones should have been a warranty on them.. I've sent pics an nothing.. idk if its worth me putting another set on the bow. First time i shot it an it cracked. I'd like to know why, but never get a answer.

 

I would keep emailing and calling until it's resolved. You purchased the bow and submitted info for warranty so they need to take care of it. Ask them about upgrading or a refund too, seems like certain models of KI bows are destined for limb failures

 

370 grains of total arrow weight is easy too light for a 405 bow. They really should have never put those arrows in the package

 

Well I’m on my 2nd KI, and my kids were just shooting and the limbs cracked. I will be on my 3rd I guess. I have not had great luck with the crossbows, but their customer service is great so far. I will call 1st thing in the morning. Hopefully they take care of this issue again. Bad thing is they are tack drivers and I hate to venture off if they don’t take care of it.

 

using 22" pile drivers 450g with 100g broadheads . These crossbolts are a bit pricey but it's cheaper than replacing limbs every other week. Bow assembly bolts no longer vibrate loose using blue lock tight . Sofar no cam issues . Sighted the factory scope in by using laser tipped bolt . Had to compensate for the heavier arrows but so far she's dead on. And made some cosmetic changes to suit my style of shooting. Little over 6 months of target practice once a week . No problems so far. But these post about so many problems reported have me a bit Leary of trusting her .

 

Use 450-500 grain bolts and I guarantee the limbs will stop breaking

 

I'm in the Killer Instinct Customer Service Phone Hold Limbo. Bought mine less than 2 weeks ago. This is my first crossbow, and I've wanted one for a long time. I'm disappointed. This is what I've learned:

Buy from a store. Crossbows have issues. I want someone who can help if something comes up.

I don't know how I'm going to tell my wife that my crossbow has issues. I had to convince her it was something worth spending money on. We're retired and we are not rich.

370 grains is pretty darn light for a crossbow in my opinion. 425 and up for me

 

The 405 has been a lemon since day one. Why you can buy one for $205.00 at Northwoods Outlet. Ask for a replacement model. Never shoot under 400 gn....450 gn better.

 

For crossbow manufacturers to get their advertised speed is why they list the lighter arrow
point combinations but most due not recommend shooting that light.

Killer Instinct crossbows are manufactured overseas and who ever is building the limbs are not
using high quality material, poor glue or not being cured properly.

I had a different brand, built over there with limb problems. The limbs would either splinter
or the last replacement had 56 shots where a limb actually broke. I always shoot arrow-point
combinations of 430 to just under 500 and it did not make any difference.

Some crossbows have very high recoil that can easily damage good quality rifle scopes. To
make these crossbows lighter the manufacturer uses composite stocks that parts are hollow
and filled with a foam substance.
When an importer is willing to purchase large amounts with the hope of selling them, they can
can buy a lot cheaper and sell cheaper and easily offer replacement parts.

Where do I get these so called limbs ? I've looked and it's hard to find these anywhere. I found a new KI 405 crossbow brand new with only a left cracked limb...can anyone help a bum out?

 

KI will not sell limbs directly to the customer any more but will send them to a dealer. If you have one close you can check with them if not I know some have bought them from Wyvern Creations so you could check with him.

 

Ki would likely sell you one
